The Lesson

It's been 6 days since Camila was given the opportunity of being an empress of an entire world. It was not something that Camila ever thought she would be able to do nor, be so accepting of the idea of committing mass genocide on a species she didn't even know about till says ago. The same person that would help and treat a wild bunny if it got stuck in a trap.  She still sometimes takes a minute to process everything that she has accepted to do and will do, going forward.

Every night, she reminds herself that Luz left her to be with those witches over her. At one point she had to ask her if she might have acted too harshly, or maybe she might have been held against her will, but she has to remind herself that those are thoughts that would drive her into more denial. Luz wanted to be away from her and nothing could change her mind. The grief that came from the realization of that would fuel into anger toward not only from her former daughter, but also toward Eda and her girlfriend, who she found out goes by the name Amity after digging up info about the whole group.

She tried to find out everything about Eda and the entire Clawthorne family. She was trying to find anything she could use in order to get revenge on Eda. If she wanted revenge on anyone, it was Eda for being the person that Luz went to instead of her. She found out about the curse and how Eda and her sister Lilith had basically little to know magical abilities after the failed petrification spell. She would also gaina bit of hatred toward Lilith due to her leaving Belos.

How could someone so loyal just leave someone like the Emperor himself. She should be ashamed of herself for daring to even go against him.

While doing this also, she started to move on from Manny. She also started to have some resentment toward him for giving Luz the Azura books. She always thought those books would be a problem with Luz reading that series, and that was now proven with everything she has seen from the past few days. Not only that, but she also started to a new person to love. Philip.

He was a person who would be ruthless and would put anyone in their place for daring to step out of line, which she not only loved about him, but someone she looked up to and wanted to b like. She felt like if she was tough with Luz, maybe none of this would have happened. Even with all of this, Philip was calm and gentle with her. This might have just been because she was human, but it felt more than that to her. It felt like she could spill all her emotions onto him and he would understand completely.

Camila was also getting used to being an empress. Philip said that he did not want to start the coronation until Camila felt comfortable enough to do so, but fast enough to have a few weeks before the day of Unity. She also had her ears sharpened like Philip did, so she would more look more like a witch and not a human. The only people to know of her existence were people who were close to him, like the Golden Guard, Kikimora and the coven heads, but they only knew her as Empress Eclipse. The collector had also learned about Camila and knew everything about her, but that was more because they were ease dropping onto Camila's and Philip's conversation.

Camila had her opinions on everyone that knew her, and she tried to gather as much info on everyone, so she could exploit them whenever needed.

Kikimora out of everyone was the most tolerable to her. Yes, she could be annoying at times, and she was a little bit power hungry, she was the most devoted to the Emperor, which she would use as leverage instantly whenever the chance. One thing out that both agreed on was their annoyance with the golden guard. She knew about how he was a grimwalker of Philip's older brother Caleb, so she already saw him as a bug that should be squashed the moment she could see anything that was a sign of betrayal. She also hated how he would always either joke around or thought that he could try and prove something to everyone. He also reminded her of Luz, which made her even more dislike him. He was a tool to her and Philip, and that was all she was gonna to treat him as.
