Max's POV

It was Friday afternoon and here I was with Alex and Hannah, dress shopping, who would've thought. Hannah and Alex had already picked out their dresses as well as masks and all that was left was me.

"Here go try on these." Alex said handing me 4 dresses.

"I hate this so much." I mumbled.

I tried a pink dress, a red one, and a black one, but they all looked horrible. They were all to puffy at the bottom and so uncomfortable. I tried on the last dress Alex handed me. It was a slim dress, no puffy bottom, it was a champagne color and had a square neckline. The top part was embellished and it was gorgeous.

I tried it on and walked out of the dressing room. Immediately, Alex and Hannah's jaws dropped.

"You look gorgeous Max." they said in unison.

I could feel my cheeks start to turn red so I made a straight face.

"Okay, it's this one. Finally." I said walking back into the dressing room. I hated being girly and having feelings so I just push them out of the way.

We bought our masks and left the mall. Hannah and Alex both came over to my house after and hung out. Josh had one of his friends over so they stayed in his room playing videogames. My parents weren't going to be home all weekend (shocker), so Josh was going to sleep at his friends house.

At around 9, Josh's friends mom came over and took them to her house. He was sleep over Friday and Saturday since I won't be able to pick him up Saturday.

~Saturday Morning~

I was awoken by Alex repeatedly smacking me in the face.

"What do you want Alex?" I mumbled trying to go back to sleep.

"Come on sleepy head, we have to get ready." She said pulling the covers off of me. I felt shivers going up my leg.

"But it's only 11 in the morning, why get ready now?" I ask.

"Because it takes a long time to get ready for these things." Alex said as Hannah walked out of the bathroom.

"Okay, fine. I'm getting up." I said throwing my legs over the side of the bed and pulling myself up.

~After Getting Ready~

"Damn Max, you look hot." Hannah said laughing.

She was wearing a long black dress with a black mask and Alex was wearing a burgundy colored dress they was puffy at the bottom.

"Shut up, let's just go so we can get this over with." I said walking out the front door. We were taking my car to the dance. I unlocked it and started driving to the place where they were having the dance.

As soon as we stepped out of the car, we waited in line so the teachers could check our bags and tickets.

The building was three stories and the dance was being held on the third floor. There was an elevator we had to take. Obviously there were stairs, but who would want to walk up stairs with a huge dress and heels?

After Hannah, Alex and I got our tickets checked, we started heading for the elevator.

"Guys, I'm gonna head to the bathroom and I'll meet you guys up there in a minute alright?" I told the girls as I headed for the bathroom.

"Okay, see you there." Alex said stepping into the elevator.

After I got out of the bathroom, the elevator was about to close and there was one person in there, everybody had already gotten to the party.

"Hey, hold the door!" I told the person in the elevator.

They put their hand through the doors opening the elevator and I quickly stepped inside.

"Thanks." I said fixing my dress.

"Hey, you're that girl who spilled chili on Amanda on Tuesday." said the guy.

When I looked up, there he was, Spencer Matthews.

Spencer's POV

She looked up at me and her face was flushed of all color.

"I'm Spencer." I said

"I know," the girl mumbled fixing the bottom of her dress.

I was about to say something else, but I was interrupted by a rumbling and then a stop. The elevator had stopped.

"Whoa," the girl said holding her hand out trying to remain her balance.

I tried pressing the buttons, but none of them worked.

"Looks like we're stuck here for a while." I said. Even though I couldn't see her, I could tell she had rolled her eyes.

She took out her phone and turned on the flashlight, right into my eyes at that.

"Ow." I said shielding my eyes.

"Sorry." The girl said putting her phone on the floor so the light was flashing at the ceiling.

We both sat down on the floor and stayed there in complete silence.

"So," I said "what's your name?"

"Doesn't matter."

I chuckled at her response.

"Are you new to our school?

She chuckled a bit and looked up.

"Actually, no. You and I have been in the same class since the 5th grade."

"No way. I would have definitely recognized your face."

She instantly blushed.

"Yeah. We've had at least one class together ever since middle school." she said looking up.

How is it possible that I've never noticed her before?

"Well, I'm sorry for what Amanda did."

"It's no big deal, she's been doing that kind of stuff since the 7th grade. It's kind of our thing, she says something and I say something back."

"I'm pretty sure she doesn't mean it."

"Are you sure we're talking about the same Amanda here?" the girl says looking around the elevator.

She looks gorgeous. Her blonde hair curled and light makeup and her dress fits her so well. What the hell am I thinking? I have a girlfriend.

She stands up and walks over to the buttons and tries pressing the firefighter one.

"I already tried that." I say standing up.

The elevator makes a grumbling sound and shakes. She loses her balance and slams right into me. My arms are holding onto hers and she's looking straight into my eyes.

Max's POV

I fall right into his arms. His hands are right on my arms holding onto me. His chocolate brown eyes are looking straight into mine and we're both breathing heavily. So heavy that our shoulders are moving up and down.

I quickly step back and lean against the elevator wall.

"So," he says, scratching the back of his neck which makes his muscles evident.

"So," I say looking everywhere but at him.

Then I feel another shake and the elevator lights come back on and it starts moving. As soon as we reach the third floor, there are girls waiting and laughing until they look at us. As soon as they do, their faces go flat. I was so glad I still had my mask on so they couldn't tell who I was.

I left for the dance floor and didn't look back for Spencer.

I met up with Alex and Hannah and tried to forget everything that happened in that elevator. Trust me, it wasn't easy.

Hey guys!
So how about that elevator scene 😏?
Do you guys ship Max and Spencer? When do you think Spencer is going to find out Max's name?
The picture is of Max's dress and she had a champagne colored mask.
