Spencer's POV
The bell had just rung and I went to my locker to get my math books and headed straight to the library. When had just gotten inside, Max came in behind me.
"Hey," I said.
"Hi," she said walking towards the table.
Seriously Spencer? 'Hey' is the best you can do? Wait, why am I trying to impress her? She's not even my girlfriend.
"So," Max says "what do you need help on?"
"Uh, mostly logarithms and inverse functions."
I was actually really good at both of those, but I mean, I struggled and Max seemed to know everything.
I opened my book and saw the first problem. It was super simple, and I could probably do it in my sleep. As I started writing down the problem on my paper, Max scooched over and got close to me so she could see my paper. She was so close to me that I could feel her breath on my skin.
When I started solving the problem, I was so distracted by Max that I started the equation completely wrong.
"Wait, you have to simplify this first," she said pointing to my paper and brushed her arm against mine.
"Right," I said erasing my work and starting over.
It was like this for a good 15 minutes until I could control my hormones for a while. Being a boy is hard.
After we had finished studying, Max started to head to the parking lot and I said "Thanks a lot for helping me out, really."
"No problem." She said and just like that, she left.
There was something weird about this girl. Instead of coming after me, I'm the one going after her. What is wrong with me?

When I got home, Ryan came up to me and said we were throwing an end of the year party and that everyone was gonna come.
I have no idea why, but I had the sudden urge to invite Max and her friend. Holy shit what is this girl doing to me? It's like I've known her from somewhere else.
Hey party at my house this Saturday, you down?
I wait for her to answer me back, but only an hour later she responds.
Sorry, I have plans on Saturday.
Damn. I was actually hoping she could come. I try one more time.
Please? There'll be booze....
I wait and she responds,
I don't know, I'll try and sneak out of my thing, but it might not work.
Hey, at least she said she'll try, maybe I'm getting to her.
Max's POV
Okay, so I actually have no plans Saturday night.
I mean, I do have volleyball conditioning early in the morning, but that's it. Josh is leaving for soccer camp on Saturday, he's gonna be gone for a whole week. My parents for once, are gonna be home on Saturday and Sunday, but then they leave for California.
I make the biggest mistake and text Alex this. She obviously freaks out and says that I have to go and that if my parents make me stay home, to say screw it and go.
But the thing is, the only party I have been to, Spencer and I didn't start off on the right foot. But he didn't know who I was and he was probably wasted.
