⎯GILDED DRAGON'S BREATH

Aurora had not known how to respond to Prince Aemond's love confession as she stared at him. Her eyes widened and her face pale. Aemond cursed when he saw her reaction, retreating from her warmth as he hissed and found his clothes. The loose blouse fell over his body as he grabbed his breeches before Aurora stood up, grabbing her dress, and pushing it back into place.
"I am sorry"
They spoke the same words at the same time as they turned to each other. Aemond's sapphire eye glistered in the morning sun that fell through her window, the matter of breaking their fast had long been forgotten as Aurora looked at Aemond, she placed her hand on the swell of her belly. "My Lady, you have nothing to apologise for" Aemond said placing his eyepatch back over his eye which to his surprise made her whine softly, but because of the emptiness of the room he heard her loud enough.
"I should. I have been withdrawn from you until I needed you for my own selfish gains and when you trusted me with something so meaningful to you, I froze" she said as she looked at Aemond, she rubbed her belly as she looked to the Prince, feeling sad she had upset him as she stepped closer, her free hand inched to his eyepatch and when he did not move, she removed it.
"I have never known love, not in the way you love me" she said as she looked to him. "But I am willing to learn, to accept your love and to share my own" she said as she looked to Aemond, she knew if she wanted somewhat of a peaceful marriage it will need to be by making compromises. Aemond looked to her, his sapphire sparkling, almost to reflect the emotion he was feeling. Excited, delighted, completely and utterly in love with his wife, as she looked at him.
"Never apologise again for something beyond your control, my love" Aemond told her. "There is nothing you need to apologise for, I should not have sprung this on you at this moment" he said, he did not know why he chose the moment he spilled his seed within her to confess his love, perhaps it had been the high he had been on from being near her, feeling almost intoxicated.
Aurora nodded until she let out a small shriek of surprise. Aemond immediately took hold of her. "Are you alright?" he asked, worry laced into his voice as he scanned her entire being to see if something was the matter, if he had not been careful enough with her. "Is it the babe?" he asked worried as he looked to her belly. Aurora felt it again when he spoke to her, and she remembered the stories the ladies of the court have told her. It had to be the babe; she was sure of it.
It would be noted, by the Lady herself, she would not feel as a connection to both child and her husband until the fifth moon, the current moon, when she realised that the babe growing in her belly, and although she had been disgusted how her body changed, she had smiled when she placed her hand over her belly as Aemond looked at her with confusion. "It's the babe, it's our babe" Aurora smiled as she looked up to Aemond. "I think they like the sound of your voice" she said as she looked to Aemond.
