The evening was filled with laughter and story telling, and horrible jokes. Candace and Dehya had prepared a a little get together for some friends and put together a delicious meal as well.

Everyone talked and had a good time. Well.. kinda. Kaveh and Alhaitham bickered most of the night, but we all know it's just their way of showing love. I was sitting on the arm rest of a chair as I chatted with Nilou.

She was showing me her new jewelry and I was very fascinated. We both had an eye for gems and sparkles, that was one thing that connected us. As we were talking I felt someone sit in the chair I was somewhat sitting on.

I turned and looked to see Cyno sitting there. I looked at Nilou, she was already looking between the two of us.

"Have you tried sitting on the chair itself? I doubt sitting on the armrest is comfortable. Y'know, 'cause a chair that's not comfortable is un-easy."

The joke was so unfunny it almost made me laugh. I cracked a smile and he smiled proudly at that. I turned to look for Nilou only to see she was chatting with Faruzan.

Fuck my life.

He spoke up again. "Y/N." He said blankly. "Cyno." I said back. "What do you call a mountain of cats?" I sighed. "I don't know." I replied. "A meow-ntain."
I smiled again.

The whole time we just made jokes with one another. His was so stupid that that's what made it funny. We both moved to the sofa to keep talking. He was right, the arm rest is kinda uncomfortable.

"Tell me, Cyno. What's the difference between a poorly dressed man on a tricycle and a well-dressed man on a bicycle?"

"Hmm, I don't know. You tell me, Y/N."

"Attire."

I did not expect him to laugh as hard as he did. I don't think it was THAT funny. He laughed for a good 6 minutes before regaining composure. "I'm sorry, that just got a kick out of me." Trust me, I can tell..

We talked the whole night and turns out that behind all the bad jokes, he's a really nice guy. He has a charm, too.

We've talked before, but rarely. This is the first time we've had a good conversation ourselves. Unfortunately though, the night soon came to an end. We said our goodbyes, but before I left,
"Hey, Y/N!" It was Cyno. "I was wondering if you'd like to hangout tomorrow? I had a lot of fun with you tonight so I figured it'd be nice for us to hangout again. Only if you want to, of course."

He sounded a bit nervous, not to mention he repeated many times that it's okay if I didn't want to. I cut him off as polite as possible.

"I'd love to hangout. Would you like to get lunch?" I said trying not to sound nervous.

"Oh uh yeah! That sounds great! We can talk about the details through text." He said with a smile.
I nodded my head and agreed, then we both walked our separate ways.

I came out of the shower and heard my text tone go off. I looked to see who it was and it was no other than Cyno.

"Hey, where exactly would you like to go tomorrow? You can choose, it's my treat." The text read. I smiled and discussed things over with him. We ended up texting longer than planned but I didn't mind, neither did he.

I wanted to talk more but unfortunately it was getting late and I needed to head off to bed soon.

"It's getting late so I'm gonna head off to bed, I'll see you tomorrow. :)"
"Okay, goodnight Y/N."

I smiled before putting my phone away and drifting off to sleep.

The next morning,

I woke up around 10AM. Perfect timing. I showered, did my hair, makeup, freaked out while choosing an outfit, and made sure I looked good. No, I needed to look perfect. I was nervous. Is this a date? No, just a hangout between friends. That's it! I couldn't stop overthinking everything. What is the matter with me? We only started talking last night.. I need to calm down.

I took a few deep breaths and checked my phone. As if my mind was being read, I got a text as soon as I checked it.

"Hey! Hope you're ready, I'm here to pick you up."

Already?! Okay, no worries. This is fine! I grabbed my bag and texted him back.

"Out in a second. ;)"

I meant to send the smile face, not the wink face. I really hope he doesn't get the wrong idea. Or would it be the right idea? Dear god.

"You look good, Y/N. I like what you did with your hair, it's cute." He noticed my hair. A regular dude wouldn't notice that. This man is perfect.

"Aw, thanks! I'm glad you like it. Yours is very nice as well." He smiled back at me as we drove to the restaurant.

On our way there we talked about ourselves and got to know each other more. Turns out we had a decent amount of things in common! Who would've thought? We liked similar artists, activities, foods, you name it.

"I already know we're going to be great friends." He said as he shot me a wink. He winked at me? That could mean so many things. What does it mean when a man winks?

I tried to dismiss my thoughts but I was just too nervous.
We went inside the restaurant and got seated at our table.

"Hey, you okay? You're real tense." He seemed genuinely concerned. How embarrassing..
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit nervous is all." I said back hoping he'd somewhat brush it off.

"Why're you nervous? I'm not scaring you am I?" I didn't mean to give him that idea at all!
"No of course not! I just haven't been out like this in a while, that's all."

"Ah. Don't worry, I'll make sure that we have a great time." He spoke with a comforting smile. I smiled back and felt better from his reassurance.

We ate our food and talked a lot. We told each other our most embarrassing stories and stuff about our family's. He's already placed a lot of trust in me as I did for him.

We continued our day with more activities. We went to an arcade and even attempted ice skating. We had an amazing time together, it was probably one of the best experiences I've had with someone in a while.

"Hah I beat you!" "Hey that's not fair! You beat me by one second! This is rigged!"

"Look what I won you, Y/N! It's a giant penguin!" "It's adorable! I love it so much!"

"Y/N please let me hold onto your arm or I might die." "It's just ice, you'll be fine."

We shared many laughs until the moon arose as the light sky fell. We got ice cream to end off our night as we admired the stars. We took a little walk and talked about random things.

Unfortunately, that couldn't last forever.

We made it to the car and it was safe to say we were both pretty tired. He drove me back to my home and we said our goodbyes for the night.
"I had a lot of fun with you, Y/N. I hope we can do this again soon." He said as he smiled at me. I smiled back. "Thank you for today, Cyno. We can definitely do this again. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Y/N."

It was safe to say that we weren't acquaintances anymore, in a good way.
