"This way,"

Our feet press into the woven reed paths, reefbirds singing their welcoming songs in the distance. Ilu's click joyfully and play in the waters below, some even snapping to try and get food being carried. We pass by hunters, mothers, and children as me and Tsireya guide the Sullys to their new Mauri. Their new home.

I feel a tug at my chest as I follow Reya through our village. The Sully's intentions do seem to be pure, but my mind is tainted with war. I have seen blood spilled because of the Skydemons; I have had their blood beset my spear and I will not let my people's beset theirs.

Small waves roll beyond the barriers. The youngest Sully child jumps up and down on the bouncy path with heavy exitement as we near the Mauri.

It must be quite difficult to be in the middle, stuck between a war — not knowing which side you truly belong on. These children are of Skydemon descent, but my hope remains that their minds stay where Eywa resides.

There's a vague conversation happening with the older sons of the newcomers, which I pretend not to notice for the pure sake of curiosity.

"Bro, stop staring — she'll notice."

"At least I can look, you think you'll win her sister over with a few glances?"

Oh Eywa...

I tighten my grip on the basket I'm carrying and adjust the leather strap of the large, woven satchel on my shoulder. We stroll under an arch of thick roots and stop just at the entrance of the Sully's new residence.

"This is for you," Tsireya sets down the sack and baskets she was holding. "Your new home."

Jake Sully steps forward, inspecting the Mauri and all of its details, "Yeah. Yeah, this'll work. This is great...this is nice, right?"

He looks to his wife who stares blankly for a moment before dropping the carpet she was holding with a heavy sigh.

The Sully sons survey their surroundings, beginning to unpack at set their things down.
