After the witches had buried their leader, the next day Gillian was chosen as the new leader of the witches. She continued working with the team that her sister had assembled. The team could not still believe what had happened. They could not understand where all the power she had shown back then had come from. Gillian was not the type of witch who spent all day and night mastering the spells from the Book of Shadows. She rarely used her witch powers, and they knew she was strong, but they did not know she was that strong. When they asked her the following day if she also thought that her sister was the one who had inherited her mother's power, seeing they were not getting anything from her, they stopped asking her a lot of questions. She made sure that all their boundaries were well secured by a protection spell that had been performed by all the witches. If any vampire tried to cross their boundaries, their daylight ring would immediately stop working. She severed all connections she had with the vampires, and there was no longer any communication. The next day, she called for a meeting with all the elders of every coven. The elders had arrived the next day for those who had not attended Ursula's funeral. For those who had attended, they had been hosted in the coven. The meeting started at ten that morning and was attended by all the elders of every coven in North America, along with Gillian's immediate team."The reason I called you here is to discuss what should be done about the vampires and to share a prophecy brought to us by Nina from the Crow Coven," she informed everyone in the meeting."What is the prophecy about?" Freya, an elder from the Night Coven, asked."She said that the girl the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack was looking for is a chosen one. If we go to battle with the hunters, our powers will merge with her. Since she is the chance, she could steal my shadow, and as a result, my coven will die alongside me," Gillian explained the prophecy."How can that be possible? Can a mere hunter be as strong as a witch? We can't allow that to happen, or we will not be able to protect ourselves from the hunters," Freya said, expressing her concern. The other elders were equally shaken by the prophecy. They couldn't fathom the idea that the hunters, whom they thought lacked magic, might possess powers."How are we going to deal with that?" Gillian asked the elders."We have to look for a spell that will stop her from using her powers," Gilbert, an elder from the Ladybird Coven, suggested. All attention shifted to the door, which loudly opened to reveal an old woman whom Gillian remembered from her sister's burial."Her powers have not been activated yet, that's what I discovered," Nina informed everyone as she walked into the meeting room. All eyes were on her as she took a seat in one of the empty chairs. After she had settled, everyone was still looking at her, signaling her to explain how she had discovered that the huntress's powers had not been activated."Okay, you got me. I took her away from the war between them, the werewolves, and the vampires. She was almost killing the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack," she was cut short by a very angry Gillian."Why did you tell me not to go to the war and then went yourself? Now the werewolves will never help us because they think we betrayed them. They would have been a great help, especially as we are planning to go to war against the vampires," Gillian said, expressing her frustration. Nina sat there and listened as Gillian vented her concerns. After Gillian had finished, Nina continued to explain the rest of the prophecy."There was a part of the prophecy that I did not tell you. There is going to be a doom that will befall all the supernatural beings. The only way we can overcome it is for Iris and Darrell to fight together, and that's why they are mates to each other. By the end of the war, one of them would kill the other, and if either of them kills the other, they will both die. They have been linked together," Nina explained the entire prophecy. After she had finished, everyone in the room was silent, not knowing what to say or do."Maybe we should discuss the matter about the vampires, and we can come back to that later," Gillian suggested, realizing that no one was ready to comment on the prophecy. They all agreed immediately."As you all know or may have heard, my sister, who was your leader, was killed by the vampires. As her sister and the new leader of the coven, I suggest that we fight for her justice. What do you think?" Gillian asked them."Did the vampire say why they had attacked?" Nina asked."They came after us when we were finished with the conference the werewolves had called for. Melvyn said that our witch had attacked his vampire. At that time, neither of us knew what he was talking about. That's when Ursula explained to him that his vampire was attacked in our territory and the witch who attacked him was trying to save her son. Then, out of nowhere, Reece jumped on my sister, fed on her, and finally snapped her head," Gillian sadly explained to the council of elders."Did you consult the victim?" Nina continued to press her."Yes, after the burial, I asked her to come to my office and explain what happened. If you were observant, you might have noticed a lady coming out of my office when you came to report the prophecy. With all due respect, I find your question disturbing. Do you know something that I don't? If you do, please inform us," Gillian told Nina, attempting to hide her anger, but not succeeding."As one of the only witches present during the war that strained our relationship with the vampires, I witnessed a lot of bloodshed, and we lost many talented witches. I do not want to see that happen again. That's why I am trying to find a reason not to go to war again," Gillian explained her behavior. Freya, who was becoming bored with the argument, decided to voice her thoughts."No matter what decision we make here, she was your sister and your leader. We may never feel the loss you felt losing the only family you had left. I think it's more of your choice to make. We, as the elders, promise to support your decision. What do you think you should do?" Freya asked the gathered elders."We agree with what Freya has said and promise to support you no matter what decision you make," Kay from the Air Coven supported Freya."The decision I've made is that I will not rest until I avenge my sister. My sister did not harm anyone. Just because one of her people was trying to protect her son from the malicious vampire, they killed her. My sister did not deserve to die, and because of that, I am going to do the worst thing we can do to them. I am going to destroy their entire race," she said darkly."Do you know what that means? You'll have to find the White Oak Tree where our ancestors performed the ritual that turned them into vampires. You'll also need the blood of the first vampire ever made. The last time I checked, the White Oak Tree was on vampire
