Lucy Manoban pov: (Pranpriya)
"Where have you been." My 'mother' asked as I entered the restaurant.
"I am going to school. So don't expect me to follow your timing. Mom." I said and sat in front of her and looked at her. I was late cause I had to stay with Jennie for a while.
"Watch your mouth. Young lady. I can take you out of the school just with the snap of my fingers. You better listen to me."
"Ugh..." I sighed and looked at dad who was quietly sitting.
"So, mom said she wants to marry you off to Kim's family." Dad said and took a sip of water.
"Don't worry, it's a guy." She said and glared at me. "I don't want my other daughter to be gay as well. It was a mistake! To make Minnie marry Yuqi."
"But it was your decision!"
"Yeah? I know I made a mistake. And I won't do it again." I so wanna slam the table and walk away. Her talks are disgusting. I can't hear it anymore. I look down at my hand.
"Oh yeah, you can stop going back to that girl... What is her name? The next heir of the Kims... Jennifer?"
"It's Jennie."
"Yeah, her. You don't have to pursue her anymore."
"Good. And I am not marrying that guy."
"Why." She glares at me and placed her hand on table. My dad looks at his wife and then me as if he knew something bad is about to happen as He shakes his head.
"Cause, I want to live a life that isn't ruled by you."
"Tsk. You will listen to me."
"No."
My mom lifts her hand as if she wants to slap me. I closed my eyes and was ready for the slap.
"Oh hello!" I felt someone sit next to me and I opened my eyes and saw.
"Jennie?" She just smiles at me and my family.
"I thought I saw you, so I wanted to say hi."
"Oh? This is Jennie."
Jennie's POV:
"Yes, I am Jennie Kim. Nice to meet you" I bow to them and they just nod their head.
"Nice to see you here, Jennie." Mr. Marco said and smiled at me.
I looked at Madam Manoban. She does look so scary tho. I smiled at her but she just rolled her eyes.
SUCH AWKWARD SILENCE IS KILLING ME!
"So, tell me Jennie. I heard from the Kim's family that you had to marry their heir, Kim Taehyung. What happened? Why didn't you marry?" Madam Manoban asked me and glared at me.
Please kill me, what do I even say.
I took a deep breath before answering.
"His parents said that he is too bad to be my husband and cancelled the marriage."
"He doesn't seem like that, well either ways. He will be marrying Pranpriya." She simply said and I feel Lucy flinch. I looked at her and she looks so mad. She grips her pant so tight, that I could see her knuckles turn white.
I gently placed my hand on hers, as I looked at her.
She turns her head towards me with a confused manner.
"I would like to say something about the marriage. May I?" I said and looked at them with a small smile, still holding her hand.
I couldn't feel her knuckles relax against my plam.
"You may" Marco said and Madam Manoban nods her head.
"Kim Taehyung is a great guy, but I don't think you will get what you want from him. He has no association with our family." I said and glared at the mother.
I could tell that she was caught off-guard.
"Our family has nothing to do with him too. If you want the thing you desire, let Lucy do what she wants."
"How dare you speak to like this! Do you know who I am!" She slams the table with her hands, standing up.
I also stood up and crossed my arms and looked at her. I had a small smirk on my face.
"Dad do something..."
"If I could, I would have."
"You! You can't tell me what I can do." The mother shouts.
"No, I am not saying anything. I just telling what is happening. And I see no wrong in that. You should let your child do whatever she wants." I rolled my eyes
She lifts her hands like she was about to hit me but she is stopped by Lucy.
"That's enough mom." She said with a glare.
That's kinda hot-
"Honey, please calm down..."
"I hope you know that you aren't the ruler of this family." Lucy adds.
"The only reason I listened to you is cause I respected you, but the fact you tried to overrule someone who isn't even doing anything wrong is bad."
Lucy snaps her finger and one of the bodyguard came and stood next to her.
"Please take her home. Back to Thailand." She said and holds my hand and drags me out.
"What were you thinking!" She shouts as she let's goes of my hand.
"Nothing at all." She turns towards me with a confused expression. She looks so cute!!
"Nothing....? Did you know what you did!"
"Yeah, I know. Just called her out for being a bad mom." She sighs and looks at me with a worried look now.
"This could have gotten worst."
"But it didn't."
"It could have!"
I held her by her cheeks and cupped her face.
"What has been done is done."
She just closes her eyes and placed her hand on mine.
"Why... Why are you doing this." She said and got closer to me. I could feel the warmth of her skin against my cold hands.
"Why are you like this. Why are you making me feel like this. It's scares me. I can't understand this. I can't." She takes a deep breath and opens her eyes.
"Jennie..." Her mouth opens as if she wanted to say something but she just closes it and looks away from me.
"Lucy... I will see you at the prom." I said and took my hands off walking away from her. She didn't call me or stopped me from walking away.
That kinda made me sad but, I understand why.
