Goodbye, March, and hello, April! The second quarter has arrived, and it was crunch time. In a few weeks, prom and grad season will soon be making their arrival. The next few months were definitely going to be bittersweet for everybody, especially Karmine. She knew she was going to have Quen to herself for the summer, but the closer it got to August, she was anxious and sick. Today was the big day for Quentavious, so Karmine wasn't going to let her thoughts consume her with sadness. She was proud of her, Pooda, but sad as hell at the same time.

It was a little bit after 2, and Karmine was on her way to the parking lot. Mrs. Watson let her leave class a little early because she knew what today was. As Kar walked, she made sure to keep her jacket zipped up. She was wearing a shirt from the school that Quen was committing to, and she couldn't let the family see it until after. Yup, you guessed it! Today was signing day for Mr. Quentavious Wilson! He was finally about to let his family and teammates know what school he was going to. With the help of his Lady Love, he had managed to keep the secret for about a year and a half.

Approaching her Monte Carlo, Karmine stuck the key into the door handle and pushed it to the right, popping the lock. She threw her book in the passenger seat and shut her door as she slid in. Sticking the key into the ignition, she turned it over, making the car shake as the engine rumbled. She wasn't in her Box Chevy today, but today was a special day, so she brought out her baby. Popping open the custom sunroof, she put the car in drive and sped through the parking lot, heading to the other side of campus, where the gymnasium was.

"Karmine, know she's gonna drive the hell out of a car!" David shook his head as he watched his niece cruise through the parking lot.

"She a Chevy girl. Watch how she palms the steering wheel." Karson suggested, nodding his head and gesturing them to look at her. David shook his head and laughed.

"Hell nah, man! Baby too cool, but she palmed that wheel straight like a nigga. Karson, what the fuck you done did to my baby?!" Kayden grumbled, making him and David fall into a fit of laughter.

Karmine gripped the steering wheel and straightened it up as she pulled into the parking spot. Killing the engine, she pulled her bookbag in her lap and grabbed her chapstick, pushing it across her lips. She checked her face in the mirror and made sure she looked okay. Because she knew once she unzipped her jacket and stood by Quen, the pictures were going to never end. Climbing out of the car, she shut the door with her hip and locked the doors before walking towards the trunk.

Once she popped it open, she made sure the gift basket that was full of the school's paraphernalia was intact. She's been sitting on this basket since Quen confirmed which school he was attending. His school of choice was based solely on his goals. He liked what their nursing program has to offer, and with him being on the basketball team and already in the athletic department, it was going to help the route he wanted to take. Once he was accepted, it was a no-brainer. Closing the trunk, Karmine started her walk to the entrance.
