The month of September rolled around quickly, which was the month of fall or autumn. The season where the temperature drops, the leaves on the trees fall and change color, and the scents change to everything pumpkin with a hint of spice and sugar that supposedly makes everything nice. This season can also be seen as or called the growing season. The fall or autumn season was a few people's favorite. The days get shorter and colder, giving everybody a break from the heat.
It's been a month since kool kids—minus one—were ambushed at the mall by Ms. Red's nephew, Keonte. Who is currently located in the ICU at the hospital. He's currently in a coma, fighting for his life—a fight he is currently losing. Karson Harrington was a man of his word. Whenever it came to his daughter, his literal flesh and blood, everything was off the table, and he didn't care who got caught in the crossfire. You mess with or threaten his junior? It was lights out for you. Keonte definitely learned until it was too late. He should've listened and taken heed to the warning he was granted during the summer.
Whoops! It's too late now. Too bad, so sad.
"Keep the change. Seems like you need it more than I do." Karson stared at Ms. Red with a sinister, mischievous smirk on his face. He winked, sending a chill down her spine. He dropped his change into the donation bucket and laughed loudly, manically, as he walked away carrying his cup and tray.
"You one sinister ass nigga." Kayden stared at his brother before throwing his head back in laughter as he walked across the parking lot.
"She better be lucky. I sedated Saylor; otherwise, she'd be selling plates for the burial plot and casket instead of the medical fee to keep her pussy ass nephew plugged up." Karson shrugged and climbed into the front seat of his Escalade. He sat his styrofoam cup into the cup before placing the plate in his lap.
"It's the fact that you even had to do that. His big ass damn near lost his shit when you told him what happened." David shook his head as he climbed into the backseat.
"Shit! Who you telling? I almost had to triple his dose just so his ass wouldn't wake up until the next day. The only thing I'm glad about is these plates being premade because I'd hate for Red to play with a nigga food." Karson popped the top and sniffed his food.
Ms. Red and her family were selling hot plates because they couldn't afford to keep up with the medical fees. They didn't have insurance, and because of that, her nephew's demise was slowly approaching. The hospital was close to pulling the plug if they didn't come up with a certain amount. So Ms. Red was doing what she did best: selling plates.
"Saylor would definitely be getting the green light, but this fish is good as hell. Might as well enjoy it while I can because this was the last time she got any money out of me." Kayden rapped, spooning some jambalaya into his mouth, bobbing his head to the music as it seeped through Karson's speakers.
David sat in the middle seat with his head angled to the left as he eyed his brother. He shook his head and chuckled to himself. "You couldn't deny Mario if you wanted to. That's yo muthafuckin twin, because why the fuck is y'all mannerism the same? Carbon fucking copy."
