Omniscient POV

They say blood is thicker than water... that family is stronger than any force in the universe.

Most would agree... some would agree that friendships could replace the family bond if need be.

Trust...

Honest...

Loyalty...

Beyoncé was slowly understanding that sometimes you just couldn't trust family. Sometimes family were the ones who would stab you in the back the quickest

"I love you more than anything in the world.." Beyoncé told her 13 year old daughter as they hugged each other for what seemed to be forever

Today was the day this whole shit show ended... there was no need to continue running and hiding.

The war was ending and there was one woman who was gonna make sure that she won.

There was no room for failure. She was tired of being attacked and harassed, she had a family now, who she would do anything to protect... and that's exactly what she'd plan to do.

"We missed you so much mommy... you don't even understand" Halle spoke as her and her twin sister cuddled into their mother seemingly not wanting to let go but Kiyana didn't mind at all

There was point in life where it was better to live and forget that to resent and risk the small time you have in this world with those you love

"What happens after today?" Casey asked her mom as her and Chance watched their mother cook lunch with a smile

Kiyana didn't feel comfortable with the kids being involved in this. She wanted them as far away from all of this as they could get, protecting the babies was something she had been doing since she was younger and that wasn't gonna change today

there was a 100% guarantee that things would get rowdy tonight. I mean between the three sisters, there was enough money to fund and entire country and as evil as it was... that caused more envy and jealousy within the family than anyone could ever imagine

Or so she thought..

"One thing about you Houstonians, y'all gon cook a good meal and i love that for me" Lovie announced as everyone came into the dining room

She of course was in the process of making her second plate because she was just lovie. Nobody understood her but they loved her.

"damn fat ass lil girl save some for everyone else !" Lydia fussed at lovie who was grabbing huge scoops of the seafood gumbo and multiple pieces of fish

"You see it getting fat too?! I thought i was the only one" Lovie laughed 

"Big hungry self.." Lydia spoke fixing herself a plate before the human vacuum left her starving

Everyone grabbed their plates and gathered around the table enjoying their meal as a family. Laughing and talking about any and everything

The kids had grown close, though Casey and Chloe argued 24/7, they had a mutual respect for one another because they knew neither of them would tolerate BS.

The adults were reminiscing on old times, how much things had changed for them over the years. How far they've come celebrating one another on their successes

This is what family was... this was how family interacted. This is what family looked like

Or was it all just a facade?
