Polly's POV
I let out a small groan to myself, waking up from a long and deep sleep. I fluttered my eyes open, letting out a big yawn before I realised that Darcie was watching me quietly, with a small soft smile on her lips. The first words that came out of my mouth were...
"Never leave me."
This made her frown, "I will never leave you again. It's a promise. If I break that promise, you can tell me off." she replied, leaning forward and softly placed her lips against mine. I kissed her back, before I gently pushed her away from me. Something just didn't feel right and I didn't know what it was. "Shit, I have a lot of making up to do..." I heard Darcie say to herself out loud. I sat up slowly, stretching my arms out and swung my legs over to the edge of the bed, standing up carefully. "I'm going to the bathroom, clean myself up." I told Darcie what I was going to do, "Serenity is in there. You might have to wait for her to finish..."
"It's fine!" Serenity's voice came from the bathroom, confirming that it was fine for me to enter. I let out a small sigh, before I opened the door and quickly stepped into the room, closing the door again. I then turned around, seeing Serenity in the bath tub. "Do you mind if I join you, to save the water?" I asked her, "Go ahead." she chuckled, "To save the water..." she said to herself with another chuckle as if it was an excuse.
I didn't want to do anything with her, as she wasn't exactly that trustworthy yet but she was...connected with Darcie. So maybe, I should trust her.
I walked over to the tub, getting into it and lowering myself down. "So, how was your night?" she asked me, straight to the point. "It could have gone better. My neck is sore as hell." I replied with the truth, "Well, first bites are painful. You'll get used to it, but I do apologise." she gave me an apology, "And I have to apologise again for breaking you and Darcie up. I didn't know that she already had a lover. My vampire side has a mind of her own." she gave me another apology, a better one. "Well, we are still girlfriends." I told her, "But, I accept your apologies anyway." I said.
Then, there was an awkward silence between us for a couple of minutes until Serenity suddenly leaned forward towards me, making me completely still. Her eyes were a dark shade of purple, and her eyes were searching mine. This was her vampire side taking over.
"If you want to bite me, do it. Don't harm yourself by resisting your urge to feed." I told her some honest advice, something I learnt from a vampire history book. She blinked at me, tilting her head to the side, as if she was an animal. I placed my hand against her cheek, "I trust you now." I added.
A miracle then somehow happened as Serenity returned to her normal self, her eyes changing back to their normal red. "Was that a test, or did your vampire side..."
"It wasn't a test. I...I still haven't got proper control of her yet. I have some...delay." she told me one of her secrets, then I quickly pulled my hand away from her face. "Delay?" I repeated, before I watched her nod. "Every vampire acts differently in terms of their transformation. Like for an example, I turned Darcie in a loving and safe environment and she came out perfect." Serenity decided to explain to me, filling me in with more helpful information. "What about you? Were you..."
"My story will give you nightmares, darling. I can't share it with anyone. Not even Darcie." she cut me off. Oh shit...
I then wrapped my arms around Serenity, hugging her. I didn't care that the water was going cold. Serenity hugged me back, lovingly.
