Y/n POV

We both started looking at each other. Not blinking.

"I like you Neteyam" I said, seriously. what I just said make him blink, looking away.

"Do you believe me?" I ask with the same tone. He look back at me.

"I-i..."

"See, you can't like someone just because they're pretty or something" I smile at him. Happy that he now see my point.

"Have a crush on them sure. But automatically like them? Na ah. 'like' is heavier than you think. For sure you don't believe me since we barely know each other" I said, pointing it out.

"Hey, since I already know how to ride a Pa'li. When will we start with the hunting?"

Both our Pa'li started walking slowly without any specific directions, just walking.

"Some other time I guess. I have something to do"

"I don't" I look at him. "What is it that you're going to do? Can I come?"

"You don't have your own ikran so no" my mouth hung open from what he just said. He didn't even turn to look at me saying that.

"That's just unfair" I whined.

"I'll see you at the high camp y/n" he come down from the Pa'li, call Apxa and at one swift moment, he's gone. How dare he left me here, I can't jump all the way to the high camp, I'll die!

"Stupid Neteyam"

I continue riding the Pa'li walking further from where we came from. I don't really know how to come back to the camp since we use Apxa to go here.

Since no one is around, maybe I can help Ivy finding the cargo. There's still a few more hours before the eclipse. I can go back to the high camp for sure.

And that's what I thought. I've been in this forest for hours the light from the ground the insects and the plants are the only thing that helps me see where I'm going. Which is nowhere.

I now come to the conclusion that I am lost. It's my fault, I shouldn't have wander further away from where Neteyam and I were earlier. Stupid y/n.

Slowly walking on the back of the Pa'li. A loud banging sound shake the ground making us stop. That can't be good.

The Pa'li started stepping back until a big Hammerhead Titanothere come to my view. Is this is how I'm going to die? Crushed? Just by thinking about it makes me winces.

"Easy there, we will go" I whispers.

It let out a big roar scaring the Pa'li I start loosing control over him and end up falling from it's back. The Pa'li run on it's own but the 'angtsìk keep it's eyes on mine not giving a damn about where the Pa'li is going. He knows what he wants. And that is me, out of his territory.

Get up and run. Easy as that y/n. Easy as that.

The problem is I'm really not a great runner. If I'm in a field I rather roll than run.

The 'angtsìk start charging into me. Ready to kill. I got up as quickly as I can and run for my life. Literally run for it.

I wouldn't die here. I wouldn't let it!

While running the sound of the splashing coming from a not so far away falls can be heard. This is my only way out. And I'm willing to jump no matter how high that falls is.

Without looking back I close my eyes and jump straight into the falls. Dropping like a bomb causing a big splash. I started swimming back up, seeing the 'angtsìk roar as if telling me that I deserve it for invading his personal space and property. He started walking away and that's my cue to swim towards the shore.
