Getting ready for the festival I look over my body it was littered with scars another reason I hate the sky people girls boys my age we shouldn't have these scars I am proud that I fight for my tribe I am proud I fight for my siblings I Want this war over before tuk has to fight

It's not fear for children to fight so my job to stop the war

"Tsaheyli I have something for you"said my mother coming in I quickly wipe my eyes and turn to my mother

"Yes"

"Here"she said holding out I crown woven with colored stones on beads

I stand up in my dress and walk to her

"You did good today my daughter"

"Mom I never want them to have to fight"

"Nor do I"

"Lo'ak neyetam they can't fight they are to young next it will kiri and then tuk I will fight for them just we can't let them"

"Ok"I say as we walk through the village

Later I step out in front of the tribe tonight I would be by myself I heard the sound of the drums the sound was strong brave then the sounds of the guitar I loved it the way the two sounds intertwined I did a little spin then started to sing this song was tradition it went back years and years I felt so connected to all as I sang I spin around the bonfire letting my arms fly through the air

The calmness of the tribe covered me I close my eyes my movements are so in sync once I open my eyes again a see tuk standing with my mother I stop holding a hand to her she takes it I keep singing while spinning her around her smile will something I will never forget

The festival continued till late it was well past dark I was sat against a tree my siblings asleep around me kiri was layed on my legs tuk on my chest both boys rested there head on my shoulders curl up on my sides

"Well isn't this cute"my mom says walking over with a smile
