The weather outside in Rio de Janeiro was warm and it was beginning to get darker as the sun slowly sunk down into the horizon, waving off the day. Colours of pink and orange seeped into the sky between the clouds, casting a bright light over the city. However, the mood inside the airport wasn't as bright and calm.
The whole class had finally gathered at the sitting where they had been directed to return to after the hour was finished. The funny thing was, Mr. Freeman wasn't there, neither was his belongings.
"But did he just get up and go, like, you'd think he would be waiting for us if he expected us to back at a certain time." Natalie scratched the back of her head in confusion.
"First Joel. Now Mr. Freeman. Who's next?" Eduardo said unenthusiastically.
"Ok, guys. Mr. Freeman has either gone to the toilet or also left to search for Joel because no one had returned with him yet. He won't be long so I suggest that we just sit and wait for him here. He will know that we would have come back and we can't afford to loose anyone else," Alex took responsibility for the situation immediately, and was pleased when everyone nodded in agreement.
"Uh, question? What if he doesn't come back?" William asked in his pessimistic voice as usual.
Claire laughed at that. "Don't worry, he wouldn't have just ditched us in the middle of another continent to fend for ourselves. And if he doesn't come back then he maybe just injured himself looking for Joel or something."
"Yeah, ok. Good plan. Everyone just stay put, if you need the toilet, go with two people, but other than that, don't leave this area," Athan told the rest.

Over an hour and a half had past, and 8A were still waiting patiently at the lounge area. Most of them were becoming quite fidgety and restless as well as worried about their teachers sudden disappearance. They lay around on the benches, floor and couches on their iPads, probably using up fifty percent of the airports free wifi by now. Every now and again, one of them would spot a tall, dark haired man sporting a suit and walking in their direction and inform the group excitedly. But each time, it wasn't Mr. Freeman and they would slouch back down in their seats and continue playing Trivia Crack, Hayday and Vainglory.
"Where is he? Oh my God, we have been here forever," Anne exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air in exasperation. "I swear, we've been waiting for," she looked down at her iPad screen, "almost two hours!"
"And I have managed to finish a Wattpad book, that's gotta mean something," Lucette mumbled to no one in particular.
Sienna smirked in Rachel's direction, "and I bet To in Trivia Crack because I'm too good."
"What a fluke," Rachel joked.
"But where is Mr. Freeman? Oh my God, we are gonna die!" Johanna said dramatically, clutching at Lucette's Nike jacket (that Johanna personally wanted) and breathed heavily.
"I'm not going to wait anymore," Georgia said to the rest of the group decidedly, grabbing her black backpack off the couch, swinging it onto her back and walking out of the lounge area.
"Where are you going?" Dimitri yelled out after her.
"Uh.. I'm not waiting around here while we could be exploring. We are in Brazil, you guys that realise that, yeah? I'm going for my suitcase and getting out of this dump," she replied, not looking back at them.
"So you are just gonna leave, you can't even speak Portuguese!" Lucette shouted.
Georgia stopped and turned around. She was now at least thirty metres from the sitting area. "That's what phones are for. If you wanna come, come! But I'm not waiting any more. I hate waiting. Mr. Freeman's obviously not turning up anytime soon," she told them, turning back around and walking off towards the baggage collection.
"Where are you gonna go? You don't know anything about Brazil." It was Patrick being logical again. Georgia on the other hand didn't understand the meaning of 'logical'.
"I'm yoloing it, it's called having an adventure," she replied over her shoulder. "You should try it sometime."
"And food? What about if people try and rape you," Zac inquired.
"Feminism!" She yelled proudly, throwing a punch in the air, her back still facing her friends. I few people in the airport turned and looked at her with weird expressions, but she didn't care.
"Your an idiot," Benson called out rudely, smirking slightly.
"Says the pussy waiting here in a cold airport for a teacher that will never come when Brazil's a step outside!"
"That's it, I'm going. Georgia, wait up!" Molly surprised everyone, snatching up her belongings and ran after Georgia, leaping on her back when she reached her. Georgia jumped and laughed, also surprised at Molly's decision.
"Screw you all," Finn picked up his hoodie that lay on the ground by his feet, bag already hanging off his back. He chased after the two who already left, turning around midway to face the rest of the class who were still staring after them. "What are you waiting for, chickens? Did you here what they said? We should stick together, let's go!"
One by one, each member of 8A collected their stuff and headed off in the direction of Georgia, Molly and Finn, laughing and sprinting towards them. When they all finally caught up with them, Georgia grinned and said happily, "I knew you all would break. These are the kids I know."
"What are we gonna do now?" Hannah asked, wondering how they were going to find a place to sleep, let alone conquer the dangerous city of Rio de Janeiro.
"We are going to do what we do back in Marby, in every science test. We are gonna wing this shit."
