TODAY, YOU HAD NO PATIENCE.
AS PER USUAL...

But this particular day was different.
A monday. The saying "Who pissed in your coffee this morning"? Your entire personality summed up in one sentence whenever Monday decides to steer around the corner.

Your luck had been as thin as your temper.
You screamed out in frustration, your fingers tightened around the steering wheel, the leather cold to the touch as you slammed on the gas, rushing to work.

Three days.

It's been three days since the strange threats of the Daycare Attendant that seemed to shake the ground you walked on. It didn't bother you at first, a small itch in your scalp, but from there, it grew. The expression on his face when he said that, the way his voice seemed to glitch out, his voice box straining with malice, and his distanced and almost lifeless demeanour for the remaining hours of that day piled together.

Three long, long days.

The feeling of fear that Sun's words brought upon you from that day was still nipping the surface of your skin like an untamed flame. It also remained deeply rooted in your chest, a thick blanket of caution that stripped away your desire to push things too far, or even speak with the celestial animatronic.

You hadn't asked a single question since then, having given up on your best efforts to make your boss civil with you, and decided to bury it deep down. After the events of last Friday, you promised yourself you'd do your best not to speak too much with the jolly wanker giant.

Just because you were now afraid of him, didn't spare him from your insults that were tucked safely in the keep of your mind. But it had to stay that way. In your head.

As well as hold your temper.

Using your brain for once seemed to put you at ease. No altercations, no backtalk, no sassy remarks. At least, none that he could see.

Deep down inside, under the careless and fearless spicy-tongued exterior of all that you were, you came to realize the hard way that minding your business was now the best course of action when interacting with your boss.

'Avoid contact, avoid conversation, avoid as much association as possible, and you'll be fine.', is what you told yourself. And try you might.

It was proving to be much more difficult said than done, unfortunately, as your morning started with a kick right in the rear. It was ironic how unlucky you were at the worst possible times. And this Monday morning was no break from the harsh reality of bullshit life decides to throw at you at six in the morning.

One, your car took forever to start after you woke up late because your alarm happened to magically silence itself. Either that or you must've been having a damn good dream. And what a waste if so, considering you can't remember dreaming at all last night.
