"Oww!" I shouted as the stylist plucked the last straying brow. It had been such a stressing start for me, at fisrt, when I came into the salon, I was pushed to the toilet to get a bath with tonnes of different fragrant body wash.
Then, I was given a hair cut and they did something to my hair but I don't know yet because I was not able to get a glimpse on the mirror.
I was then taken to another stylist to do my makeup, thankfully my braces were out last week, the stylist had my teeth whitened by another professional that was there too. Everything was blurry because I have no glasses on.
It felt like hours had gone by and finally, I was ready to see myself.
"Alright, close your eyes while I place these glasses on to you.." The petite brunette lady told me.
"Ok, 3, 2, 1.. SURPRISE!!"
I took a deep breath before opening my eyes.
Holy molly! for once, I looked pretty but then my sight trailed on to the colour of my hair. Woahh.. they turned me into a brunette???
"Do you like it? because you don't seem to like it.." The lady crossed her fingers as she looked at me.
"please say you like it.. Mr. Johnson will fire me if you don't"
"I love it!" I exclaimed as I hugged her.
"Anyway, I am Laura, your assistant." The petite lady told me as she part from the hug.
"I have an assistant?" I asked her.
"Yeah, didn't mr. Johnson tell you that? You are the editor for the whole articles segment, which means, all the articles are going through you first and you will pick out which you think is relevant and then it will go through Mr. Johnson himself." Laura went on.
"That sounds difficult" I told her
"That's why you have me" Laura grinned.
It was a hectic day and after the makeover, I went shopping for new formal clothes for work and Laura helped me pick some nice ones. Thank God, I lost some weight during the holidays and now I could fit in any clothes I want.
Laura seemed nice and she helped me brief on what I need to do and how my job should be done. I can't wait to start work!
