I was traveling back to my college dorm after visiting home. I decided to travel by bus instead this time since I thought I'd be too tired to drive back on my own and I was right. I was leaning my head against the bus window, staring outside at the passing trees.
I'm about to become a senior in a few months and I'm excited to see my life after graduation.
Eventually, the bus slowed and the speaker shouted my stop. I gathered my stuff and shuffled off the bus. I sighed and started to make my way towards my apartment.
The evening air was very nice due to autumn starting. College finals have ended and it was nice to chill at home for a bit, it was just the relaxation I've been needing.
Now if I could get just an ounce of that here...
I put my key in the slot, but before I could turn it, the door swung open.
"Jackson, why are you always here?"
He completely ignored me and just pulled me inside.
"Happy birthday Bri!" He said, swinging me around.
I moved back from him, but I couldn't physically stop him from pressing his lips against mine. He tasted sweet, but also bitter from alcohol and it felt really good but it hurt my pride to enjoy it at all. I was able to slip my arm loose and push him away by the forehead.
"I've told you before to stop that!" I said.
"Oh, stop playing hard to get. We both know you like it."
I looked away, slipping out of his grip, and started to make my way to my room.
"Ya know if you just admitted it, we could do it all the time," he claimed.
I tripped slightly but caught myself with the wall.
"Shut up, you must be crazy to think I'd want to kiss you." I rolled my eyes.
"Crazy or not, you're the only one lying to yourself." He approached me, gently rubbing his thumb against my lips as I glared at him.
"We've known each other for a bit and I now understand you like to act the opposite of how you feel so you can just admit that you have feelings for me already. You don't have to guard yourself so much; we could have a lot more fun if you let me in."
I knocked his hand away and pushed him with my shoulder.
"The only thing I feel for my bullies is contempt."
"Including Del?" He smirked.
"......" I looked away.
"As you know, I've spent more time with them than you, so if you play nice, I could let you in on some juicy info." He said as his hand moved down my arm.
I got the creepiest shiver down my back. "Dude, if you're gonna attempt to sell me information, try not to come off as a creepy old man that brides interns with positions in his company through 'favors'."
It seemed like that statement caught him off guard and he pulled back his hand.
"Plus, I much rather gain my information through experience anyway, so no thanks." I gave him a fake smile.
