EPISODE 10- GI JOHNNY
-Liana-
We've decided to switch things up from football a bit and instead take up tennis. Or, our weird version of tennis that is. I'm sure Serena Williams would be quite insulted by our version. It's more of a cricket, tennis hybrid played with a mini football.
I can confirm that this game was not my idea.
Bailey stands at the ready, a tennis racket in his hands as he waits for Jody to throw the ball .
Rick encourages her as she blows on the ball, rubbing it against her shirt as if that'll change anything. I roll my eyes at how long this is taking, looking down at my still perfectly intact nails.
"Right come on Jody. Be the ball, be the ball" I snort at that. She throws the ball and Bailey hits it with ease. It rolls out of the gate and onto the road.
"Race you" I yell to Johnny, sprinting past him and out onto the street. I'll do anything for a bit of entertainment after an hour of intense boredom.
I pause as soon as I catch sight of a woman with her dog, yelling at a man who is trying to steal her bag. He tugs at it roughly but she's not giving up without a fight.
Johnny stops beside me, watching as she accidentally lets go of her dog's leash and the man manages to run off with her bag.
He doesn't get very far before Johnny is running onto the road and tugging him back by his hood. He ran so fast that I couldn't have stopped him if I tried.
"Move, move!" The woman yells at Johnny running after the other man and trying to get to her bag.
Johnny steps back, tripping over the woman's white puppy that is running around like a mad man. Or mad dog rather.
I rush forward, stopping beside Johnny and watching as the woman fights the man for her bag. "You okay Johnny?" I ask, looking at him as he pulls out his phone to take pictures of the mugging.
The second she gets her bag back, the man runs off and she rushes back to Johnny and I. "You okay love?" He answers her question this time though he completely ignored mine.
"Yeah" He laughs, accepting her hand that she holds out to help him up.
"Oh thank you for helping" She says gratefully as I glance back at Bailey, Jody and Rick who watch from a distance before approaching.
"That's alright" He says, a slight blush on his face. I almost laugh at that. "I got his photo"
"Oh brilliant!"
