A/N: heyooo ! i'm going to be trying to update this every day. updates will most likely change to like every 3 days and then stop altogether next week because I have high school entrance exams (sobbing)
anyways i hope you guys are really enjoying this! I've got a little surprise for when I introduce a new character. anyways onto the vi- i mean chapter

L's POV

I was sitting in the van, happily stitching together something with scraps of fabric from worker drones and string from my dress.

It was fun to make the plushies. I had some good references etched into my memories.

But it wasn't a replacement for their namesakes.

I miss N.

I wonder if he's looking for me.

I brushed off the thoughts, going back to the plushie. It was of a drone that I couldn't really remember entirely. Her name was Ai, I think. She might be a disassembly drone, like us...

Who am I kidding, I don't even remember this drone. I sighed, taking apart the plushie.

This "Ai" drone seemed deathly familiar...

I dropped my materials and exited the van.

I could hear a couple of worker drones wandering too close. This time I was tired, so I took the fast approach. I held out my hand and thrust it downwards, watching the worker drones be crushed by a collection of pixels. Oil sprayed out of their bodies as I giggled.

"Looks like someone wandered a little too far away from home, fufu."

AK's POV

"'Maryllis?" I called. When there was no answer, I checked the house one more time for any sign of my sister before leaving. I was going to try and find another murder drone hideout. Landing zone. Whatever. If she knew I was out when I had just about 50 kilos of homework, I'd be killed worse than if the murder drones got to me.

On my way out, I pickpocketed a key from one of the guards and opened the huge metal doors. To mess with them a little, I buried said key in the snow outside.

I felt like I was walking for hours. The scenery was so, so repetitive. Walking through endless snowy plains was boring. I stepped on a couple of little robotic bug fellas, but that didn't make it any better.

Well, that was until I saw the corpses, flattened like they were crushed by the aforementioned metal doors.

I knelt down and held up an oil-covered scrap of one of the corpses, which disintegrated in the freezing wind. I can't use this...

I ventured farther into the intersection, stopping every now and then to inspect a corpse to see if its materials were salvageable (spoiler: majority weren't. Big whoop.)

Something caught my eye. A yellow glint. Scared, I unslung my favorite modded AK-47 from off my shoulder and loaded it. I caught sight of the yellow X, five lights above it lighting up as the form of a disassembly drone made itself clearer.

I was about to shoot when I felt something pulsate through my systems. Fuck...is this what I think it is? I tried my best to stay up, but unfortunately, this force was too much for me.

I hit the ground and was forced to shut down, hoping I didn't die right then and there. That wouldn't be ideal.

L's POV

I panicked. So I ended up firing an EMP instead of a gun blast.

...This drone seems different, though.

Maybe I'll spare it for now. It seems...interesting.

Actually, part of me just said "Hey, L, lay off on this one."

So that's exactly what I'll do.

The voices in my head are telling me things, and normally, aren't you supposed to agree with them?
