**Timeskip (next morning)**

Ayanokouji POV:

Ayanokouji entered the classroom and it's the last day of the mini special exam. He noticed that the classroom seemed to be more carefree and less tense than yesterday. He supposed that Class C dropping the trials is something worth celebrating and it put those who were facing the trials at ease. Ayanokouji sat down at his desk and Horikita looked at him.

"What did you do?" asked Horikita.

"What do you mean?" replied Ayanokouji with a question.

"Stop dodging it. It was like Sudou-kun's trial on the second month. The trials were dropped miraculously by Class C."

"Who knows?"

"I got a message from Sudou-kun yesterday that his trial was canceled."

"Coincidences can be freaky."

"I also noticed that you seemed to be in trouble as well."

"What do you mean?"

"I was there. I saw what happened between you and some Class C students in the Supermart.

"..."

The duo fell into silence as Horikita reveal that she was aware of Ayanokouji's situation with Class C. Ayanokouji was surprised that Horikita was there and how he didn't noticed her. She must've slipped away when the incident happened and while Ayanokouji was busy dealing with the Class C students.

"Did you let me sit there idly during the class strategy meeting?" asked Ayanokouji.

"I had a feeling that you had a trial, but you didn't say anything about it. So, I believe that you had a contingency plan since you didn't speak up about your own trial." replied Horikita.

"Well, lucky me. I don't have to attend a trial today."

"How long are you going to keep playing dumb?"

"..."

"It's a long story. But, there's too many prying ears here." said Ayanokouji. "Let's just say that Ryuuen backed off when he saw something."

"I see. You must've got some evidence contradicting the trials and proved Class D's innocence." said Horikita. Apparently, she recognized that it's the only way that Class D could've gotten out of the bind that Ryuuen tried to put them in. Ayanokouji gave her credit for accurately predicting it based off limited amount of evidence.

"Who knows?"

"At any rate, let's finish off this mini special exam strong. That's one thing over with."

"Yep. We still have the our last exam before winter break."

"I wonder if Ryuuen-kun will make his move against us before winter break. You can't keep using me as a shield. He's already hunting for you."

"That's true. I suppose I'll let you handle this last exam and sees what Ryuuen's next move."

"Hmm... we must still be on our guard. This is only a small victory."

"It seems that way. A decisive battle is a way to end this."

"That's true."

The duo fell into silence as they ran out of topics to continue the conversation . This gave Ayanokouji some time to think.

I think it's time for me to take a step back and leave the rest to Horikita. There's no need for me to interfere. All I have to do is student council business.
