Chapter IV

After he had left, you wasted no time and rushed towards the hospital to check on your mother.

"Taxi! Please drive me to Lotus Hospital." You panted as you reached towards the taxi.

"Sure ma'am, please get in" the driver replied as you sat in the taxi.

A while later..

You rushed towards the closest elevator and got in as you pressed the floor you wanted to go.

After getting outside the elevator, you rushed to the room where your mother was.

There she was, taking rest.

You couldn't help but there escaped a small tear from your right eye as she looked peaceful.

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding as you wiped that tear.

You walked towards her and sat down on the space beside her

You held her hands as you mumbled some comforting words which caused more tears to flow out.

This doesn't go unnoticed by her.

"Y/N? Is that you?" She stirred while being half asleep.

You quickly wiped your tears and stood up.

"I'm sorry ma, did I wake you up?" You asked, disappointed in yourself.

"No honey you didn't. And it's even time for my medicine. Ah, let me guess you were thinking about why did the chicken crossed the road?"

You couldn't help but let out a chuckle even after being in her deathbed she was just like before.

"It's– It's like not that ma. It's just– nevermind." You sniffed as you wiped the dried out tears.

Your mom let out a sigh as she knew how stubborn you were and she knew she couldn't argue further

"Anyways, I'm here for my weekly visiting. Knowing how you have restricted me from coming as it'll "affect" my studies." You chuckled as you repeated the same words your mom had said a few days ago.

"That's right young lady. You must understand that." She said trying to sound strict but ends up laughing at her own statement at the end.

You and your mom looked the exact same just the different ages and different personalities as well.

Her laugh slowly fades when she notices a frown resting on your face. Her face softens as she started,

"We spoke about it right? Please don't make it harder for me than it already is." She let out a sigh while her hands rested on top of yours.

"I– I know." You let out another sniff as another batch of fresh tears started pouring out you tried your best to wipe them. Yet they didn't seem to stop.

"We just can't stop your treatment because of this. I– I promise you ma, I'll do everything in my power. I promise I will." You said as you sniffed and wiped all the tears flowing

Your mom could only look at your features with a soft smile on her face.

A while later, you sniffed again and wiped your tears as you spoke, "I should probably go now. And please, if you ever need me, I'm just a phone call away okay? I even added it on speed dial if that helps okay?"

You rambled your usual talk while you helped her as she laid on her bed once again.

"Yes honey, I already remember and this isn't the first time you're telling me." She said as she chuckled.

"Bye ma, I love you so much." You replied as you kissed her forehead softly

After reaching towards the door, you turned to look back at her. As always, she looked peaceful. You couldn't let anyone not even that mere Taehyung to ruin her peace. And for that you were willing to anything, anything.
