Fifteen years later and the girls had grown up very differently. Abigayle had short red hair, red eyes and a rather fiery personality. Elizabeth was the oposite. She had long blue hair and blue eyes. The only thing the pair shared was a birthmark shaped like a funny 'X' behind their ears. Neither of them knew each other and they had grown up with very different lives.

Abigayle went from foster family to foster family until she finally gave up trying to find a couple that she liked. In the end, she settled. She didn't like who was looking after her, but she was almost old enough to live on her own and so she figured that all she had to do was put up with them for one more year and then she was free. They weren't a nice couple. They'd often yell at her, making her feel small and unwanted. And, on occasion, they would even hit her.

Dealing with this made Abigayle grow hard. She was picked out at school for her anger and put in therapy. This rage which had built up inside her was one that she couldn't control. And then she snapped.

As she returned home late one evening after being in trouble with school, her foster Dad went to hit her and that's when it happened. A blinding blue light came from her eyes, illuminating the room before her. A shape began to form in the light, morphing from the shape of the shadows, stealing the brightness until there was nothing but darkness.

The room grew warmer as a small, red flame appeared in the center of it. It took a few moments for their eye's to adjust but when they could eventually see it, Abigayle's foster Dad started to laugh. Before them was a small creature. It wore a old, rusted armor which had glimmers of the blue spread amongst it as if it had absorbed the light which Abi had emitted. It pushed back it's hair, which was made out of the flame and winked at her. It drew it's sword and pointed it towards the man in anger. Her Dad, who was not taking this creature seriously, carried on laughing until the sword engulfed itself in flames and was handed over to Abi.

Abi's red hair curled as she held the weapon's handle. It snaked around her body, taking over her torso and protecting it like a suit of armor. She stared startled at the flaming sword and felt the sudden urge to touch it. An urge, which very quickly became a reality as she placed her hand on the edge of the blade. She assumed that she would burn herself or cut herself or injure herself in some way, but that never happened. Instead, her hand set on fire, joining the sword in it's blazing glory.

The foster parent began to call for his wife, who came running down the stairs to help him. In a fit of fury, Abi blasted the flame towards the staircase, stopping her in her tracks. She quickly turned around and fired another blast at her foster Dad, who was propelled backwards in the blast. He hit his head against the wall and was knocked out instantly. Abigayle walked out of the house, setting it aflame on her way out. She looked at her hand as the flame died down and began shaking. This gift she had been given was a terrifying one. She had no idea that her real Father had the ability to control fire.

She fell to her knees, tears forming in her eyes as she left a state of shock. The small creature from before walked over to her and put a hand on her shoulder, which she batted off instantly.

"Who are you?" She asked, getting nothing but a blank stare as a response. "Tell me who you are!" She demanded, steaming a little with her anger.

"You shouldn't assume that I want to speak, even if I can," a gruff voice that didn't match the look of the creature responded. "My name is Gemi. I'm the better half of the Zodiac 'Gemini', and I am yours, miss Abigayle."

Abigayle's foster Mother came out of the house, coughing and spluttering, with a burn down the left half of her body. She looked over at the teenager and her temper took over.

"What was that?" She spoke through grit teeth. Abigayle ignored her.

"To do as I please?" She asked Gemi, who reacted with a nod. A smile crawled up on Abi's lips, "then kill her." She ordered.

Meanwhile, in a dusty, dull room, staring at a half empty glass of water, the other twin was sat waiting. She was waiting for another rejection, another couple to interview her and say no. No one wanted to adopt teenagers. She'd missed her chance because she was weird. Elizabeth was one of the nicest people in the entire world. She was patient, she was kind and she was compassionate. But it seemed that being a nice kid wasn't enough for her to get chosen.

She heard the other children outside, playing in the sunshine. She tried her best to ignore them, afterall, none of them liked her. If they didn't like her, why should she like them? She'd always been different. Her hair was blue, which she'd learned in school wasn't a natural hair colour and often got her into trouble. She tried to change it, but the next day it was always back to being as blue as the ocean.

As a tear ran down her cheek, the water in the glass began to shake, but there was no earthquake. He grabbed the glass in confusion. It was almost as if the water was dancing. She figured it was mocking her and threw it across the room, soaking the floor.

With frustration, she crossed her arms on the table before her and laid her head upon them.

A flash of red errupted out of the wet floor, but she never noticed. She sobbed in silence.

"Please don't cry Elizabeth." A small, squeaky voice said as a tiny creature placed it's hand on her shoulder to comfort her. Elizabeth jumped, not expecting anyone to comfort her. The fear was only tempoary, however, as she stared at the thing that had touched her.

The creature looked innocent, almost like a young child. It was slightly blue in tone and wore a red pyjama set. Upon inspection, Elizabeth was able to make out a small tail protruding out of the creature which seemed to be made of water. The creature wore a brown belt with a small dagger held in it.

"My name is Mini. I'm from the Zodiac 'Gemini'. Please don't cry." The creature introduced itself. The creature whimpered a little before it began to cry aswell. Elizabeth hugged it gently and they soothed each other for a while until they both stopped crying.
