It was 9:46 and the news starts at 10:00 son I have 14 minutes left to cook something for myself and Acacia. Thank goodness I have some formula for when I babysit my neighbors baby. I took out a bag of Totino's pizza rolls and dumped in a bowl and stuck it in the microwave. I went to go get Acacia from her car seat and carried her into the kitchen. I took the baby bottle and poured some water in and two scoops of the formula. I shook the bottle and began to do a little dance that made little Acacia smile. I stopped and smiled at the little bundle of weird joy and put the bottle in her mouth. She hungrily sucked on it while I took the pizza rolls out and munched on them. I looked at the time and saw it was two minutes away for ten. I walked to the couch with Acacia in my arms and turned on the TV and went to the news channel. I went back for my food and quickly sat down.
"Today there has been a murder of a local named Amelia Smith. She was shot in the head by a couple in their 40s that have been identified as Robert and Andrea Jones. The couple gave birth to a young baby girl named Serena Jones. The kids at this foster home have the choice to either go to another home or live with a former foster child named Merliah Summers. The decision is hers. Reports of Amelia abusing these children have been made but no one has ever believed them because she was known as a kind lady. Social Workers have looked at the bruises and found out they were covered with concealer if there was news of any inspections ton this house hold."
I guess Acacia had a disguise name. I like the one I was given to call her better. Amelia was a manipulating woman but she didn't deserve to die. But I guess what happens, happens.
"Robert and Andrea Jones have been diagnosed to have a small brain tumor. The issue could have been fixed immediately but the couple didn't have the money. My condolences to the remaining family members out there."
Does that mean there is a chance of Acacia having the same condition? I hope not. What a sad story though. I will pay my respects to them on their funeral. Now, about the kids... when are they coming over. Or doni have to go there?
As soon as I thought those questions I heard a knock on the door. I went to go open it but thought about what i would say about her. No time. I opened the door and was greeted with 2 teens, 3 kids 4-10, and 1 toddler.
"I'll take them." I immediately said.
The man chuckled and and grinned at me. "Alright. Just sign these papers." I did without any thought and the kids ran into the house.
"Don't worry about the costs. We'll send you some money every month to help pay for taking care of the children."
"Thanks."
I closed the door and looked behind. All the children ran up to me while the teens calmly walked and they all hugged me tightly but also watching out for the baby. How will i explain?

I just read my description again and realized Merliah was Seventeen. I'm gonna change it to her being 18 which makes her a legal guardian to the kids. Yes, she is still in high school.
Fun Fact: Merliah Summers is a name from a barbie movie. I just really liked the name and I actually enjoy barbie movies.
