Meanwhile down at the nearby pumpkin patch  was their Uncle Hopper. Hopper had gotten a call from the patch's handler in need to take a look at the destroyed and twisted wreck the patch had become overnight. Hopper looked over the pumpkins one by one inspecting the incident.. Each pumpkin seemed to be slammed into... It's insides covered in black tarry goop that gave off a steam as if it was done by fireworks or explosive motor oil...

"God Damnit..." Hopper grumbled.

It was near Halloween and Hopper didn't think he'd come towards a problem this badly. He shined his light over the rest of the pumpkins before getting back in his truck. What was all these strange things happening? Why were they happening? Had it been kids pranks? Or is there something odd going on in this town after all?...

Hopper started up his truck and drove off. He had his mind more concerned with his niece and nephew and how to keep them safe.... They were only 17! Half Human too.... It had been only 4 years ago he found them on his doorstep after they had escaped the Hawkins Lab... After hearing about their parents and brothers death Hopper was devastated... But he swore on his life he would protect them with what time he had left... They were his only family now... He had lost his sisters...his brother-in-law.... his eldest nephew... and was left with only Robby and Rosie....

Hopper pulled up to the house and opened the door to the house to see his Niece and Nephew in the Living room chilling as they watched his T.V. They seemed to be fascinated by a horror movie that had just come on. Hopper studied it for a moment before realizing it was "A Nightmare on Elm Street", the one with Freddy krueger who had knives for fingers. He chuckled a bit before sitting down in his chair with them.

"What's up with the horror movie?" he asked.

"Saw it and thought it looked interesting..." Rosie replied not removing her eyes from the screen.

Hopper didn't think Robby could pull Rosie into watching a horror movie. He thought she'd freak out or something like Robby did his first time. Rosie looked closely as she watched Freddy tear open "Tina Gray" and dragged her along the ceiling. Robby had no flinch to such a kill.  Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Hopper quickly gave the Twins a glance as they turned off the T.V and opened up a wooden floor plank and climbed into the hole. Rosie went in last and covered the hole up over them with the plank. Hopper then walked over to the door and opened it.

It was Joyce! Hopper looked down confused as to why she showed up.

"Byers?"

"W-We found him..."

The twins listened in under the floorboards. Found who?

"No.."

Hopper walked out grabbing his hat and coat before following Joyce outside shutting the door behind him. The twins carefully came out of the floor helping each other out.

"There's no way....." Rosie mumbled.

"The kids gotta be dead..." Robby pointed out.

The twins sat staring in awe at each other before brushing it off. They knew something had to be wrong here but they were unsure of what it was..

Rosie then sniffled a bit.
"The hell?.."

Robby did the same before shooting up.
"What's that gasoline scent?!"

Rosie grabbed her jacket as she tossed Robby his. They then left immediately heading out into the dark of night to search for where that wretched scent was coming from. The walked out deep into the neck of the woods far off from the house until they reached the edge of the pumpkin patch where Hopper investigated earlier that day. Robby looked out at the patch of blown up pumpkins before sniffed the air and pinching his nose.

"Yup..This is it.."

Rose gagged a bit before brushing it off and leading forward deep into the patch. Robby followed behind as the 2 investigated the patch. Robby then took a close look into a pumpkin seeing vines of some sort...

"Hey Rose? Is it true Pumpkins get screwed by vines? Or did we just walk in on something strange..."

Rosie walked over sitting beside him pulling out her small light from her coat pocket. She shined it down seeing what looked like a blob of organs or dark bloody intestine in the bottom of the pumpkin... How it steamed... How it reeked of explosive motor oil... It moved like a beating heart as the light gazed down on it. Did it hate light?

Rosie then reached down and poked it as it flinched at her fingertips. It clearly was connected to something.. Rosie poked once more before suddenly it grabbed her wrist aggressively trying to fused onto her like a blood thirsty leach. As it jerked her forward Robby jumped behind and pulled her back before it could fuse anymore. Robby put in all his might, tugging and pulling on rose when it finally let go as the twins shot backwards tumbling a few feet away from the pumpkins.

Robby got up quickly as he looked around finding a bat that sat next to the farmer's tractor. Rosie sat up rubbing her head as it ached from the tumble back. She then picked up her flashlight looking around. Robby was nowhere in sight..

"Robby??? Robby come out this isn't funny!" Rosie called.

She flashed her light amongst her surroundings. As she got ready to call again into the darkness.. SPLAT!

Rosie jumped backwards shining her light down at the pumpkin beside her that had just been smashed by the bat Robby wielded.

"Robby! Gross!"

"Oh hush. Wanna kill them off I suggest to pick up that axe and help me out with the rest."

"And what if Uncle Hopper finds out that we were the pumpkin smashing at 12 o'clock at night on a property we don't own!?!"

"It's either we save Hawkins by killing the paranormal creature before another person goes missing or we stand by watching people die and disappear off the face of the earth."

Robby then held out the axe to Rosie. She hesitated giving her brother a look.

"Robby.."

"Rose.. Now. or never."

Rosie then finally gave into her brother. She knew he was right, it was either watch people die or do them a favor. She took the axe from his hand at long last. No backing out now...

"I'll take the west side, you take the east, leave no pumpkin un-destroyed."

"Yeah yeah I hear you.."
