I quickly turn around and see James with his smug smile and a few of his brown curls in his face, he must have just come from football practice as he was still in his uniform with facepaint still on as well.

"What!? No! She just my friend and Im looking for her, have you seen her?" I asked trying to keep my cool.

"No, I haven't seen her all day. What *are* you looking for her?" He asked suspiciously

"We arr working on a school project." I lied

"Hm ok well like I said, freak, I haven't seen her so go away before I make you."

"Fine fine" I said as I walked away.

I started looking around the school for her but then the bell rang and I had to go to my next and thankfully last class of the day, math. I finished the assignment quickly so I could go to the gym. I asked my teacher to go the library and luckily he said yes, I walked out of the class and made my way to the gym and as I looked under the bleachers I saw her. I walked under the bleachers and sat next to her.

She was sitting with her knees to her chest and her head in her arms on top of her legs. I pit my hand on her shoulder.

"Lydia? You awake?" She jumped as I touched her and started talking to her.

She flinched and moved away slightly. "Oh hi s-sorry..." she said quietly.

"Don't worry, it's fine. Are you feeling ok?" I asked her.

"Y-ya just tired. I was up late doing homework."

"Oh well if you ever need help with any of it just let me know ok?" I asked her as I noticed  a few tear stains down her face but she wiped them away.

"Thanks Arriana..." she said as she looked down but smiled slightly.

"Want some candy? I have taffy and chocolate." I asked holding 2 small bags of candy.

"Sure, could I have the taffy please?"

"Of course, here." As we ate the candy I helped her with some of her homework and we read, colored and watched a movie in my phone until we had to go back to class then leave the school. As we were walking out of the gym I decided to ask about how she ignored me then stood up for me.

"Hey Lydia? Why did you ignore me when I tried to talk to you but stood up for me when your friends were being annoying and mean to me?" I asked but as I did her smile turned to a look of regret or sorrow.
