Chapter 2: A 4th chance

"Jake?" I asked very surprised and confused, he looked up from his phone and looked like he was gonna start laughing, and before you knew it he started bursting out laughing,

"Why're you laughing?!" I said confused and tilted my head, he still kept laughing but finally calmed down,

"Sorry sorry, you just look cute with those braids."

"What do you want."

"Alright alright calm down, okay look I'm gonna ask you something but don't freak out alright?" He said, I nodded,

"Ok, I'm sure you've heard the rumors of Layla cheating on me right?" He asked,

"Yeah, Milly told me this morning about it.."

"Ok well yeah it was true. But I want a way for her to get jealous and a way for me to get back at her."

"And what does this have to do with me?"

"Ok please don't freak out but... Can we please fake date or something like that?"

"What!?" I say shocked and not believing what I'm hearing,

"I said not to freak out..."

"Just... Come in let's talk about this." He walked inside and took off his shoes, I invited him to sit on the couch, and he sat down, I sat across from him,

"Okay, what is going on? I need you to explain." I ask still shocked about what he asked,

"I want to make Layla jealous, you know, since she cheated on me. She'd get angry if I dated someone immediately after we broke up."

"And why me?" I ask,

"Because around 2 months after we started dating, she admitted she thought we were dating and was pretty jealous." He said starting to look a bit...I don't know how to describe but disappointed. Then I thought to myself, that's probably why he stopped hanging out with me and the club. Because Layla was jealous of me...  That made a lot more sense now,

"And since she used to be jealous of you I assume if she saw us together she would get angry. Only if you want to but it would save my life."

"What's in it for me?"

"Hmmm..." He thought for a minute,

"You'll have a charming handsome boyfriend!" He said feeling proud, I just stared at him,

"Why're you looking at me like that?!" He said somewhat offended, then I realized, this could be an opportunity to get my best friend back. I mean I've missed him if I'm being honest. I thought about it for a second, should I give him another chance? I mean I've given him so many chances, should I do it again? I signed and I finally responded,

"How long would we do it for?" I ask mumbling,

"For as long as we need to I guess." He said shrugging,

"Alright... I guess we could try."

"Yesss!! Thank you, Hailey!" He said looking relieved, "We should set some rules down though, like a contract."

"That's a good idea." I go get a paper and a pencil and start writing things down,

"First thing?" He asks,

"We can't be too touchy."

"Hailey who's gonna believe that?!"

"True... Fine but we can't kiss."

"Not even cheek?"

"Just not on the lips..." I say as I write down "No lip-kissing"

"Hmm what else..." I asked tapping the pencil to my cheek,
