7th January arrives and its the day of the results. The two sisters get ready for school. Waking up, they get surprised to see that Maya's pimple has completely healed and there isn't any sign of it now. "Wooww Mr. Pimple couldn't have you healed like two days earlier. That would have solved a big problem and uncomfortability of my life." Haya complains.
It feels wierd to the both of them, going to school being themselves. Haya reminds Maya that she has three assignments due today which Haya had prepared last night. On the other hand Maya reminds Haya that she had a project due today which Maya never had time to make. Great!! Thats like a good sister.
"Oh myyyyy if you would have told me I would have done it last night, with the other projects I was making, which belonged to YOU!!. I never miss any of my projects. By the way Maya you were watching The Fault in our Stars last night you were completely free." Haya complains completely freaking out.
"Haya that is called being busy watching the movie you've waited all your life for. I didn't have time." Maya answered.
Haya felt a pain in her heart seeing that her sister was never going to stop being selfish. Haya had been awake the previous night making the three assignments that were not even hers and belonged to Maya, while Maya had been enjoying. She didnt at all feel it her responsibility to in return, make the project she was supposed to or atleast tell Haya that it was due today so she could make it herself.
It seemed like Maya was never going to change and Haya would always be the one to compromise. As the girls reached there school it took them a while to get back to their own selves. The two day drill had become a practice now. Haya felt amazing with her hair tied up properly in a braid and Maya admired her own style back. Today was the day for the election results.
Joining their class mates in the ques, the entire school waited for the principal to read out the results and award the gowns to the girls. Narmeen and Maya have a two minute stare down competition, passing each other glares.
Finally the principal steps onto the small stage. "The winners for the elections 2015 will be announced in the reverse order of seniority." There is a 2 minute pause and the Principal speaks once more.
"The Sports secretary for this year will be... Uroosa Ilyas!" The students burst into applause and the candidate's class hoot for her. About 9 announcements later comes the turn for the results of the highest post of the school The President.
Haya feels anxious, despite being upset with Maya she still is worried for her. She silently prays to hear Mayas name in the coming two minutes.
"Now for the President." There is a 30 seconds pause, the principals face lightens up as she opens the envelope revealing the winners name. The next few seconds seem like hours and both Maya and Haya close their eyes in hope to hear Maya's name.
"This years President is...." the principals lips moved in slow motion and instantly the crowd went wild. Every one hooted and applauded and Maya was perplexed and had no idea what was going on. Haya ran and hugged her sister and so did the other 11th graders. By the way every one was acting it might have been that the principal's lips formed Maya's name. Her face showed shock as she was in state of awe.

"Oh my god you won you won!! I am sooo happy for you" Zara exclaimed as they made their way for class. Maya in the middle, Zara and Anoushey on the sides.
"Thank you so much! Today we celebrate victory against Narmeen during lunch." Maya chuckled as they entered their class rooms. It felt amazing to be back to her own class. People hugged her congratulated her and told her how they were rooting for her. Maya loved the attention she was getting and was glad she had controlled everything and her pimple wasnt bad enough to skip school other wise, would she have left it in Haya's hands it would have been a disaster. She's so lucky to be my sister. Maya thought.
As the day went by she was appreciated and admired. During the third period she met Narmeen on her way to the bathroom who simple glared at Maya and then said "Congrats. Lucky strike!" and stomped away. Maya loved seeing the look of displeasure on Narmeen's face she thought it was worth all the hurt she gave her.
Maya however did not like one change that had been brought to her life, which was by non other than Haya Irfan. All the teachers expected her to give prompt answers and act responsible like she had been doing so since the past two days. The chemistry teacher wanted her to recite the whole periodic table when she didn't even know the first two elements on it. Life was so perfect if Haya would not have set a perfect impression of her to the class and teachers. Now poor Maya had to make extra effort and study other wise the teacher would say "This President thing has gotten to your head Maya why aren't you studying?" Had the teachers forgotten that she never was too much of a raising-your-hand-in-class-for-every-question kind of a girl. Haya just had to spoil her perfect life. Why does she hate me so much? I ask one favour and she messes it all up. Maya thought.
What our dear Maya doesnot understand is that Haya made every effort to help Maya. And she wants her sister to be happy and appreciate her existence. But Maya finds it very difficult.

Haya entered her class with a smile on her face as she wass super excited for her sister's win. She decided she would get Maya a present. Haya sat down at her usual seat which was in the second row and took out her book to read the chapter they were doing as she had missed two days of Urdu.
Before the teacher came in that girl from the canvassing came and sat beside her. Haya didnt know her name but recognized her as the girl who was apparently friends with Maya thinking her to be Haya.
"Hey Haya congratulations for your sister." Haya noticed that the girl had brought her bag with her. Although her usual seat was at the back of her class. How was she to converse with her when she didn't even know her name. Asking would be stupid since Maya was already friends with her and must have asked her name too.
"Well thanks." Haya replied "She deserved it."
The teacher came in the class and took their attendance. Thats when Haya learned that her apparent friend's name was Javeria. She seemed nice, if they became friends then she would be the first friend Haya ever made in school.
Javeria was talkative but also intelligent. She was one of the girls who were toppers in class but also funloving.
"That paper ball fight was awesome though." Javeria smiled widely while the two were talking about how they studied in the same class yet never knew about each other.
"Paper ball fight? " Haya asked as the comment caught her off guard.
"Yeah! The one you started when no one was here that day I liked it. It was getting kind of boring sitting doing nothing waiting for the teacher. That's when I first noticed that you were my type, studious yet funloving. Not like the rest of the class who only keep studying." Haya just smiled in return wondering what kind of a paper ball fight was it. Javeria had the wrong impression she was only studious.
"I'm glad I met you Haya I've been wanting to make a friend since ages and you are one of my type." Javeria said.
"Yeah me too" you're the first friend I've ever made. Haya wanted to say but she didn't. Maybe it was time for her to try and socialize a bit. Despite all the flaws Maya had, Haya was glad to be her sister. She was thankfull that Maya had made her this friend. She was glad that Maya had helped her socialize, without Haya even asking Maya helped her. Yes, Haya helped Maya tremendously for her win, but in return this was the best gift. Haya always wanted friends but never had the courage to initiate a conversation. Maybe Maya wasn't that bad after all. I forgive you for not telling me about the project. Haya thought.
Javeria became Haya's new best friend in a matter of days, she was really nice and helping. Slowly Haya was getting out of her shell. Maya's presidency caused her to become a little responsible but only a little. They didn't know what life would bring them but Haya knew for sure that what ever may come both of them could face it together like Fire and Rain.
