Maya~♡~ 13th Sep'17
It is unusually early for me to get up, the maid hasn't even asked me to leave the room so she can clear up the mess and make the bed, which is usual weekend routine for me. But something disturbing meets my ears causing me to shift in bed, it feels like the ringing of a bell followed by someone talking as loudly as they can. I am not used to this happening, no body ever tells me to get up early on a saturday. Isn't it enough that I wakeup early five days a week to attend college? I open one eye and peek at my wall clock. It shows 1:00 pm. What is it with these people and distrbing my peace. Every body knows I wake up at 2 on saturdays, then why the sudden noise?
As usual Haya would have woken up early in the morning before even the rooster woke up, but I dont work like that. Last night I was busy sorting out my makeup brushes and boy do I have a load of old ones.
I try to sleep once more covering my ears with my pillow when another loud screaming comes from down stairs. Its like someone is being called. Honestly people we have neighbors lower your voices please. I try again to enter a peaceful sleep but someone starts drilling into the wall in the house next to us. Really?
I decide this world won't let me enjoy my saturday so I get up and make my way to the bathroom, before which I cross the dressing table mirror and boy do I look good. I'm awesome even during my slumber. My hair is messy in the most perfect way. I grab my phone and a snap a picture of me and keep it as my wallpaper to admire when I feel kind of low. You know, when I have bad days I need inspiration so I look at my self in my wallpaper. Make use of yourself people say. I quickly take a shower and change into a grey sweat shirt and blue jeans. It's a casual kind of a day.
I advance down the stairs to get my self something to eat. Upon entering the kitchen, I see Haya standing near the counter with her bag, a worried expression on her face. She is looking at something outside through the kitchen door. I follow her gaze to see mom standing in the garage with her dupatta* on her head and she's talking to someone. She too worried about something.
I decide that my hunger should be attended first so I take out a bowl and pour some Koko crunch, I can practically live on this. I open the fridge and get my self some milk. I enjoy my cereal while looking at a nice fashion magazine exhibiting the wonderful new collection of Khaadi*. Their prints keep getting better and better. Between a mouthful of cereal I notice that Haya's gaze is fixed on mom and she is unaware of my presence I wonder what her problem is. I resume munching the cereal.
After 5 minutes of not being noticed by Haya I feel like I should really go see what the problem is, so I tip toe towards her. When I am exactly behind her I pinch her cheeks from behind and she immediately turns around. She gives me an annoyed look.
"They're ultra soft aren't they?" I ask her wiggling one eyebrow.
"Huh?" Haya replies.
"My hands aren't they so soft today" I say while examining my hands. "All thanks to the moisturizing cream I just got yesterday. Its amazing, you should try it sometime." I tell her.
"Maya please, not now." She brushes me off turning again to look at mom and the other person.
"What is so interesting in mom talking to the gardener?" I ask now looking at the scene outside in the garage.
"He's not the gardner genius he's the gatekeeper." Haya retorts.
"We have a gatekeeper??" I ask astonished.
"Maya do you even live here? You cross this guy every day you leave the house." Haya is now facing me.
"Really?" My eyes are wide with surprise.
