CHAPTER 7 TOWNSHIP OUTSKIRT, AKUNA MAKA, XHAGA TERRITORIES UNITED CHIEFDOMS OF BEMUZU
"Do you really need to do this?" asked a 6-year-old Bemu boy, his voice filled with concern, as he and his older sibling walked the streets of this dubious part of Akuna Maka. Despite being the capital of the entire planet of Bemuzu—a hub for government, commerce, and military power—it had its share of covert and shadowy corners.
"I have to, little brother," replied his tall and slender Bemu sister, her braided locks concealed under a veil that draped over most of her body. She held his hands tightly, providing reassurance as they passed by several shacks, most of which were watching the coronation happening on the planet of Parnon.

"This place is scary" he uttered, his little voice trembling.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you. Your sister has got you, my little Mxolisi," she assured her bald-headed brother, squeezing his hands tighter, before turning a corner into an alleyway. Faint sounds of shouts and cheers grew louder as they made their way toward the source of the commotion.

The alleyway was narrow, with dubious individuals coming and going. Some cast curious glances at the siblings, while others harbored ill intentions. Yet, the older sister remained undeterred, and Mxolisi clung to her hand. With each step deeper into the alley, the sounds intensified, until they reached a point where a massive male with leopard markings blocked their path.
"State your business!" he demanded, towering over the siblings, his menacing gaze and slightly revealed fangs adding to his imposing presence.
Bemuzu, the planet of the Bemu people, was renowned for its abundant and diverse fauna, boasting the largest number of non-sentient creatures known in the entire Eteran system, with many yet to be discovered. This characteristic was intricately woven into the Bemu regil, and the man before them embodied the connection between the Bemu and their wildlife.
