Chapter 1 - The Line Between Right and Wrong

SYNOPSIS:

Two years before the Tree Wars, young SilkWing Solar became embroiled in a war between Fyrerost and Hymeno; three years later, an explosion in the upper city reawakened the conflict between the two sides.

[SCREEN TITLE: 4960 AS - TWO YEARS BEFORE THE TREE WARS]

[scene begins with a young SilkWing dragonet limping down a dark alley. A dim and cracked lantern dangles above him as he walks below it. The dragonet is wearing a red band on his right arm. He is heavily bruised, with a trail of blood rolling along the side of his head]

[the SilkWing dragonet turns around a corner, revealing a blue with a slight shade of purple egg cuddling between his arms. He breathes exhaustedly, looking ahead of him and seeing multiple pillars of smoke emerging from different parts of the city]

[the SilkWing dragonet emerges from the alley, arriving in a wide, empty street. He immediately shudders in fear, staring ahead and seeing many HiveWing and SilkWing corpses scattered along the street. Blood is spattered along the walls of nearby buildings]

[a sudden, bone-curling scream is heard in the distance behind the dragonet, and he frantically turns around, breathing heavily. He blinks a few times, turning in front again and standing still, trying to figure out what to do]

[the dragonet turns his gaze toward the golden palace across the city, which stands above the hill and towers over the rest of the buildings in the city. The SilkWing dragonet gulps, taking a few steps forward and toward the cloud of smoke blocking the street]

[the dragonet sees a silhouette of a dragon in the smoke, and his eyes widen in surprise. He takes a step forward cautiously, seeing the silhouette turning toward him. The dragonet breathes heavily and leans backward, watching as the silhouette completely turns to him]

SOLAR: M-mom?

[the silhouette leaps out of the cloud of smoke, revealing himself to be a HiveWing. The HiveWing extends his claws toward Solar, charging at him quickly. Solar tries to run away, but he quickly stumbles and falls onto the ground]

[the HiveWing leaps forward at Solar, but a large SilkWing arrives out of nowhere, punching the HiveWing across the snout and sending him across the street. Solar sits on the ground with the egg right between his talons, staring at the SilkWing in amazement]

[the SilkWing is wearing metal knuckles on his talons, which are stained with blood. Solar turns to the HiveWing, who's dazedly getting up and roaring at the adult SilkWing. The SilkWing raises his talons above his snout, staring right at the HiveWing and preparing for another fight]

[the HiveWing screeches and rushes at the SilkWing. The SilkWing dodges, catching the HiveWing by his neck and slamming him onto the ground. The HiveWing tries to flail around, but the SilkWing easily pins him down, and he begins to punch him repeatedly in the snout]

[Solar shudders in horror, cringing at the sight. He watches as the HiveWing's talon eventually drops and collapses onto the ground. He turns toward the SilkWing, who is breathing heavily as he gets off the dead HiveWing]

[Solar quickly turns to the HiveWing, whose snout is completely broken after the barrage of punches. A pool of blood flows next to the HiveWing's snout. Blood drops from the metal knuckles on the SilkWing's talon as he stands over the dead body. Solar breathes heavily at the sight, seeing the SilkWing turning to him]

[the adult SilkWing's snout is bruised and damaged as a result of the fight across the city. There is a deep cut inflicted across the right side of his snout. His antennas are dangling over his snout, partially blocking his eyes. There are a few other cuts and burn wounds on his arms and legs as well]
