Chapter 7

Victoria Hayden Gilmore 'Tori' to those that knew her well, lacked for nothing. She is a bright 4 year old that has all the attention she could muster. She has her Lele and Papa Luke wrapped around her finger. Gramdpa, Grammy and Aunt Gigi are very present in their lives. So much so that Luke and Chris called a truce for Tori's sake.They love their granddaughter. They couldn't get enough. They spoil her rotten.

Her Uncle Finn, Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Colin, Aunt Lane, Aunt Paris and so many more adored her and she knows it. Honor and Rory became friends. She sees her niece every chance she gets. Honor and Josh have three children, a 12 year old Joshua, a 10 year old Mitchell and a 4 year old little girl named Harper. This allowed Honor and Rory to become friends again. Harper and Tori go to the same pre-school.

Tori had a very active life. She has pre-school three days a week. She spends one, sometimes two days a week in Stars Hollow. Luke and Lorelai keep her for ½ a day mostly Thursday. Yes she is very active.

Rory stays busy, but she always tries to make it home in time to eat with Tori and put her to bed. She dates some, but it is always after Tori is put to bed. She has a live-in nanny, Kenni, a college student going to The University of Hartford. Rory works from home most of the time and Kenni goes to school in the mornings. She also has a housekeeper named Sara. Sara cooks, cleans and helps with Tori when needed.

Rory was working on her fifth book of her childrens' book series 'Lee's Lessons Learned' The series is about the adventures of a Squirrel named Lee and his two best buddies, a border Collie named Collie, and an exotic peacock named Fantasia, Fan for short. They live on a farm.

Christopher helped her manage her money. After her first two books, she bought the publishing house. She has a CEO that handles everything, but she helps out some. All in all, Rory and Tori have a full life.

Rory and Logan have had minimal contact since signing the papers. Finn has been the go between. Logan and Odette come to the States at least 2 times a year. Usually Thanksgiving/Christmas, and to Martha's Vineyard for the month of July.

Logan made random trips without Odette, mostly for business. After Tori's second birthday, Finn would take Tori to her favorite park to play. If Logan was in town, he would visit with Finn. This of course was with Rory's permission. Logan always kept it low key. Tori didn't know his name, she just knew him as Uncle Finn's friend.

January 12, 2022 Wednesday

Logan was sitting in his jet on the runway in Hartford, Connecticut, waiting for customs to clear him. His mom was in France at a spa. Shari was not handling his divorce too well. At least he didn't have to worry about how Mitchum was handling the divorce. Mitchum passed away shortly after Christmas 2020. He didn't buy the hype that was COVID, that is until he passed out in the middle of a board meeting. He passed three weeks later.

Logan started moving HPG home office to New York this past summer. He will work out of the Hartford Courant office as much as possible. HPG bought the paper when he was in high school. Mitchum converted the top floor to HPG offices. Logan has been back and forth since August getting everything ready for his move. He took over the HPG apartment in Hartford and New York. He was having both renovated to his liking.

Logan asked Finn not to tell Rory he was moving back. Finn agreed. He wanted his two friends to get back together, to be a family, so he didn't want to give Rory too much time to worry about him and what he wanted. Logan told Finn he wanted to meet with Rory first.

January 24, 2022 Monday

Rory and Tori are getting ready to leave Nantucket. Rory had been there all week. Lorelia arrived Friday. Rory was aggravated with Lorelai and Emily bickering. She knew she would be that is why she scheduled her trip to only include a few days with the two of them.

"Lele," Tori told Lorelai, "you need to bring Papa Luke next time so him can make me pamcakes." Rory was trying to get Tori's coat on her so Lorelai could take them to the airport. She had already spent the last 5 minutes trying to get Tori's boots on.

"Tori," Rorysaid, "You and Lele can talk in the car. You need to let me put your coat on. It is cold outside. We don't want to be late for the airplane."

The mention of the airplane got Tori jumping up and down again. "Lele you going on the airplane with me?" Tori asked. Lorelai just grinned. She could tell Rory was getting annoyed. Rory was shaking her head.Tori was a good mixture of Lorelai and Logan with a little of Rory poured in. Of course she couldn't tell anyone, but she could see him in her all the time. She has his eye shape, but her color. She has his nose and ears. She has a lighter color of burnett than Rory. When the sun shines on it, you could see the blond in it.

"Victoria," Emily said. "When momma gets your coat on, come give me a bye hug. I won't see you for a while."

Tori gave Emily a hug and a kiss, then Lele took her to the car to get her buckled in. As Rory was hugging Emily bye "You know Logan and his wife are divorce?" Emily whispered in her ear. Rory pulled back from her, giving her a look. "Just letting you know." Emily kissed her on the cheek. She was a spry 76 year old. Nothing like the Emily of Hartford.
