FLASHBACK: JACOB POV

"Mom when is dinner" I say walking into the kitchen "soon where have you been all day" she says cutting some carrots up "at a friends house having some fun" I say "nothing inappropriate Jacob we don't want you turning out like your brother" she says "that's insulting" I say grabbing an apple and heading up to my room.

As a thirteen year old you wouldn't really classify them as a "drug" type but don't blame me its Adam the first couple of times he forced me to take drugs and then I somehow got addicted.

Adams girlfriend Sammy seems to have a new bruise everyday, there's not really much I can do.

I could go to the police but they will take Adam away and yes even though he is a good 10 years older then me i consider him and Sammy my only friends.

I don't have friends in school in the type that spends there time in the library reading comic books.

But that changed when I met Adam I would start wagging class and meeting up with him in some sketchy part of town, at this point I didn't have a bright future ahead of me.

I still take abuse drugs but I'm on the road to recovery with the help of Sammy, I know Sammy takes drugs as well.

"Dinner is ready Jacob" I hear my mom yell taking me out of my thoughts "be right there" I yell back.

I get up putting out my cigarette and quickly pop in the bathroom brushing my teeth and running downstairs.

"That was one of the best pot roasts you have ever made mom" I say putting my plate in the sink "thanks honey got any plans for tonight" she says starting the dishwasher "actually I'm going to a friends house I will be back by 11" I say "better be its a school night" she says "promise mom love ya bye" I say hugging her and racing out the door.

I run down the street and knock on Adams door "for fucks sakes it's open" I hear Adam yell.

I walk in and is greeted by the familar smell of drugs in the air.

"Jacob told you not to come back here again" I hear Sammy say walking into the room "shut up Sam he can come here if he wants" Adam says.

"Anyways Jacob how school going" Sammy says "he hasn't been going much he has been meeting up with me almost everyday" Adam says smirking

"You can't keep missing school Jacob" Sammy says "I said shut up" Adam says getting up and slapping Sammy in the face.

"Jacob leave you don't want to see this" Sammy yells at me "but..but" I say "please go" she says as Adam grabs her and drags her to a bedroom down the hall.
