*Mika's pov. *

Lilah and I arrive at the mall after not to long.

It was on the opposite side of town to the one I work at – the rich side of town.

I knew that I needed to be careful with money because of my father losing his job so I decided to go with the cheepiest dress I could find and be done with it.

It's not like I was dressing up for someone.

Lilah turns to me, a big smile on her face.

"What kind of dress are we thinking for you?" Her excited tone makes me a little less tense about this whole thing.

My lips curl into a sheepish smile. "I'm not really sure. What dress would you wear to this type of thing?"

"How about we just head into a few shops, you tell me what appeals to you? I don't think these kinds of party's have a dress code."

"That sounds amazing. Thank you." I don't know if she realises how much relief her words caused me.

I think I would've been fine with this whole party thing if I'd been to one before. And the fact that Heath is there, the fact it's his party, is causing me more anxiety than I'd like to admit. It's his birthday, I wouldn't want to ruin that kind of thing for him. Especially since it's his eighteenth.

We walk further into the store. I look around making sure not to miss anything in the windows that I might like.

"Tell me if you like anything, yeah? And I mean anything. If you see something you like tell me, we don't have to shop just for dresses." Lilah says, giving me a soft smile. I return the smile.

Soon enough, we come across a store that has a few nice clothes out on display.

"This one's one of my favourites, I'm sure you'll love it." She gives another gentle smile.

From what I know about her so far, she's a very kind-hearted person. Gentle nature seems to be one of her traits. It's something not a lot of people have nowadays. I appreciate it.

Lilah walks in front of me, guiding the ways to the best parts of the store.

"Okay, tell me about the kind of dresses you like? Or if you don't like dresses give me an aesthetic."

I give a small nod. "I don't really like anything to bright, and style wise, more on the sundress side of things. Not to...sexy?" A soft laugh escapes her mouth, so does mine.

"I didn't know what word to use." My hands go up in defence.

She continues to giggle. "That's not what I'm laughing about, Mika." She smiles teasingly. "You just look like the exact kind of person to wear a sundress. Like exact."

"Do I?" I look down at myself. "What kind of clothing do you wear?"

"Tight dresses. My favourite." Her smile stays wide then it switches to a look of idea. "Oh my god! We should match?"

I give a tentative look. "What are you thinking of?"

~Time skip~

I'm currently starring at a mirror that reflects a knitted dress with a sinched waist.

My head tilts as I try to figure out if I love or absolutely hate the dress. It's pretty don't get me wrong. It just doesn't feel like something I'd wear.

I step out of the changing room after hearing Lilah call for me to come out.

My eyes move ahead of me, and I see her in the same dress, like we had decided.
