She walks home, tired with the day

Limbs aching, face drawn

Deadpanned she falls into bed, she will awake at dawn

Alone she sighs, emptiness prevails

Eyes droop, and her breathing regulates

Chirp, chirp, chirp

Lids open, and lo! She gasps startled

She has been pulled

Awake, and smiling

By the stranger in her dreams,

Was this reality?

Yes! Yes! In happiness she beams

He takes her by the hand

And travels her to a faraway land

To ruins and castles they visit

Wonders of the world, little bit by bit

She’s in heaven on earth

Where he goes she goes

He isn’t the escape she wants,

Rather the reality that will remain forever

He makes her the soul

That angels envy

I have to go

Frantic she turns

And cries out

One stroke to the cheek, two more

She leans in and inhales, desperate for something to remain forever

She leans in,

Head to his chest

Her lids flutter close

She wakes up,

The harsh alarm to her ears

Time for a new day

No prince charming eh?

Not yet..

Not yet anyway.
