"Amber! Amber! Get up girl, your going to be late for school again." My mom yelled. "You know if you get 1 more tardy you will get a home suspension."I politely threw my pillow at my mom, but I missed. "I'm up." I growled back at her.
Once my mom left the room I laid down in my bed for about a good five minutes strolling on my social media accounts. I saw some of my old school mates on snap chat and I couldn't help but miss them. My mom, my little brother Aaron and I... and of course my Step father Stephen moved to St. Louis from Atlanta about 3 months ago. St. Louis is alright I guess but it's very hard to find friends out here, considering that every girl that walks down the streets is stuck up. I don't mind being to myself, at least I have my pet gerbil, Bettie, to keep me company and endless episodes of Scandal.
I finally decided to get out of bed before my social media addiction took over me. Lord knows I can't put my phone down. I fed Bettie and then I went into the hall way bathroom and took care of my morning hygiene. I hopped in the shower for about a good 10 minutes and let the water run down my body. After I was finished I dried off , wrapped the towel around my body and ran back to my room to get dressed.
Considering that its August I decided to wear a loose fitted tank top shirt that says "I hate school" (which is accurate) and some nicely fitted skinny jeans. I paired my outfit with my black and white taxi jordans that my step dad bought me a while back. I went to my dresser mirror to fix my big curly hair. I have been natural all my life, I love my hair. I decided to wear my hair in a slick high top curly pony. I outlined my lips with cork lip liner by Mac and then I filled the rest of my lips in with Taupe lipstick by Mac.
I'm not really a fan of makeup, I like the natural look but ,however, I love lipstick! After I was ready for school I took a couple of snap chats and grabbed my book bag and met the rest of my family downstairs for breakfast.
"Bout time you come out of that room, I thought you were gonna be late again." My annoying step father said without even greeting me with a simple good morning.
"Good morning to you too. I don't know who sprinkled in your cereal this morning but it sholl wasn't me." I replied sarcastically.
"Not today you two." My mom added. "
"Do you want breakfast dear? Stephen made use some nice omelets."
"No thanks I'm not a fan, I'll take a banana."
" I heard she can do some tricks with her mouth." My disrespectful brother said walking down the stairs grabbing a plate of omelets.
"Watch your mouth?" My mom and step father both said at the same time.
" See you been hanging out with those gang banger, they gone mess around and get ya lil A** in trouble. Don't fall in with the wrong crowd." my mom lectured.
My little brother is only 12 and he attends Creastview middle school. I would hate if he got in trouble by following the wrong crowd, but he's young. He still has to find himself.
"Come on Aaron I'll walk you to your bus stop."
Aaron and I walked down to his bus stop were a group of middle school and high school boys were hanging.
"Okay I can walk to rest of the way." Aaron said making his way over to the group.
"Wassup Mane, lil chin head ahh." I heard on of the little boys say checking Aaron as he walked over. I shook my head in laughter. I spotted a familiar boy that attended my school but I didn't know his name. He was a tall light skinned fellow and I must admit he was kinda cute, but he'll never fall for a girl like me.
I walked a couple of blocks to where my bus stop was and waited for the bus. The bus arrived at 7:45 a.m. When I got on the bus the kids were loud. They were throwing paper at the bus driver and a couple girls eyeballed me as I sat down. I have only been at this school for 2 weeks and these females already don't like me, but that's cool I go to school to get my education, not to make friends with fake a** ho**. I got to school and I wasn't surprised when a fight broke out between a couple of gentleman....I mean little immature boys. It probably had something to do with gang activity.
I want a respectful young man that will take me out and show me off. Not someone that will love the streets more than me.
After the teacher cleared the fight I was making my way to my first class, when some boy bumped into me and made me drop my books.
"Shit a** hole watch were you going." I said to the familiar face that I once saw this morning at my brothers bus stop. He looked even more handsome up close but I looked passed that because I was pissed.
" I'm sorry Ma" the familiar face said while helping me pick up my things.
"It's okay, I can pick up my own things." I said selfishly. I really didn't want his help but he insisted.
"Thank you." I said to him once all my things were off the floor.
"No problem." He said while licking his lips. "What's your name?" he asked. I know good and well this n*gga ain't tryna talk to me after he basically ran me over in the hallway, I said to myself.
"Amber, My name is Amber." I said aggravated.
"Amber? Huh? That's Nice, My name is Malcolm." He said slighty laughing.
"Well Malcolm I have to go." I said as I walked away leaving him standing in the middle of the hallway.
