School has been great this week. I've been hanging out with Tonya, Ky, and Michala a lot. Their cool I guess but Ky and Michala seem stuck up and Tonya seem's more down to earth. It took some begging and pleading for my mother and annoying a** step father to agree on letting me go to Tonya's house party.

Right now I'm deciding what to wear to this party. I paired my Hare's 7 with a nice short grey dress that I got from BooHoo and a light blue leather jacket. I left my hair down so that I can show off my big curls and I Applied some Fuchsia lipstick onto my lips.

I grabbed my phone and headed out for the party.

"Now you be good and call me as soon as this party is over, I don't want to have to come blow this house down." My stepdad said as I was hopping out of the car.

When I entered the house the party was jumping. I spotted Tonya on the floor dancing with the rest of the girls. I signaled a wave at her. I saw Aaliyah in a corner by herself, I walked over to greet her. "Hey girl." I said. "Hey Amber." she replied. "Who you here with?" I asked her because she was sitting on the wall by herself. "That's my boyfriend, Romney." she said pointing at the boy standing beside Malcom. "Oh, well lets go speak." I said dragging her towards Malcom and Romney's way.

"Hey Malcom." I said. For some reason I was happy to see him. He was looking nice. He had on his usual white t-shirt and true religion jeans. With a little bling around his neck. "Wassup Ma, can I have a hug?" He asked reaching his arms out. I gave him a quick hug but when I tried to let go he held on tighter and grabbed my a**. "You look good tonight." he whispered in my ear. I chucked "Whatever." I said as I pushed myself out of his arms.

Aaliyah was standing next to Romney giving him a look with disgust. "What mane? I told yo a** you could stay at home. I don't need you to stand around and stalk me." Romney said to Aaliyah. "Why so you can talk to these other bit**es?" Aaliyah snapped. Romney was about to say something but stopped when he noticed me looking. "The fu*k you looking at? Black a**?" he barked. "Excuse m--" I was about to go off until Malcom jumped in. "Aye bruh chill." he told Romney. I could tell Malcom was mad his nose was flared out. I liked that he was taking up for me though, it was cute, but I can take up for myself. Male or female it don't make no difference you can still take an a** beating from little miss Amber.

"Let's go dance Amber." Malcom said as he took my hand and lead me to the dance floor. Future song "Fuck up some comma's" started playing, I love that song. I couldn't help but dance. Malcom was looking at me like I was crazy but I didn't care I felt so comfortable around him. I was to turnt until a slow song came on. Malcom then took me into his arms and wrapped his arms around my waist. I Put my arms over his neck and we slowly danced to the music.

Malcom Pov.

"Cause, girl, you're perfect You're always worth it And you deserve it The way you work it 'Cause, girl, you earned it (shit) Girl, you earned it, yeah"

Man this girl got me feeling some type of way. I usually don't fall for girls this quick but it's something about her that makes me want to know more about her. She was just standing here dancing with her head on my chest. Her beautiful brown eyes and her brownskin made a ni**a go crazy. And it's funny because I usually don't go after girls like Amber she quiet and I don't know... different. Maybe that's what I need in my life someone that's different.

Amber Pov.

Once the music stopped I got kinda sad because I could dance with Malcom forever. I always told myself to never get caught up with a thug, but what if it happened. How would it feel? What would it be like? I questioned myself.

"Lets go up to my room so we can talk." Malcom suggested.

"Your room? What you think I am, some jump off?" I said. He laughed "No ma it's not like that I just wanna talk and get away from the noise for a while."

"Ok, I guess." I said as I followed Malcom to his room. Malcom's room was very neat for a boy, neater than mine to be exact. He had posters of basketball teams and jordan shoe boxes on his wall. It was very creative.

Malcom sat on the be and I joined him. "So tell me more about yourself." says Malcom. "What do you want to know?" I asked. "Anything." he replied.

"There's nothing spactacular about my life, I'm a normal 16 year old girl. I like to stay in the house and watch Scandal and play with my pet gerbil Bettie. I'm very goofy, I love to laugh. My phone is my bestfriend. I grew up in Atlanta, my grandma basically raised me because my mom was always away for work. My dad was shot and killed due to gang violence when I was 7 and I witnessed it. I remember those men coming into our house and kicking down our door....

***FLASHBACK

"What's that sh** you was talking ni**a?" a unknown voice yelled.

I was in my room playing with my dolls that I got for Christmas. Aaron was in his crib. I peeked out the door and saw two black guys aiming a guns towards my father. I was terrified so I got Aaron out of his crib and hid under the bed. I heard two gun shots go off. I became scared. The men then searched the house to make sure no one else was there. My mom was at the grocery store picking up dinner. I put my hand over Aaron's mouth so that he wouldn't cry. Once I heard them leave I got up from under the bed.

"Daddy? Daddy?" I cried. He didn't answer. I was scared I didn't know what happened to my daddy. Aaron began to cry, the gun shot shook him. I opened my room door and walked into the living room and saw my daddy laying on the floor with blood everywhere.

"Daddy!" I screamed. "Wake up Daddy!" My neighbor ran in and saw what had happened. She called the police.

I was asked a lot of questions by the tall white policeman. "Is this who you saw?" "How many men where there?" I was asked to identify the men who killed my father. Once the men where locked up they got a group of friends to make a drive through at our house. They wanted our family dead.

***End of FLASHBACK

"My grandma thought it was best for us to move in with her. I had to take some therapy classes because my mother feared that I might psychically harm myself from what I witnessed. For a long time my mom was depressed and so was I. Aaron didn't know what was going on. He was the most happiest baby in the world. He is what kept us going. It's crazy because I never knew what it felt like to have a dad. Mine died when I was just a baby." At this point I was crying.

"Now my mom is engaged to this man and I have a hard time accepting him as a father because I don't know how to let him in. I don't know what it feels like to be loved by a man because I had to live half of my life without a father! I hate thugs! I hate what those men did to my father, and everyday I try to protect my little brother and keep him out of trouble so I want have to witness another death due to gang activity."

The room was quite. I started to wonder if Malcom was even listening. "I'm sorry" I said while whipping my face with the back of my hand. "It's okay." Malcom said Then his lips suddenly crashed into mine. Once The Kiss Was Over I Starred At Malcom In Shock.

Malcom's Pov.

I Couldn't Help Myself I Had To Kiss Her. It was heartbreaking to see her cry like that and I felt ashamed. If she finds out that i'm gang affiliated she wouldn't want anything to do with me. I don't want her to look at me like she looked at those men when she was 7 years old.
