"so you're not an easy one." Is the first thing Theo says as takes a seat in front of Stain who immediately glances up to him.
Meeting his blue eyes makes his stomach turn as he stares right at the man he clearly doesn't want to meet.
His blue eyes could be attractive to others, but they almost feel as though he is threatening him, revealing more than he's actually showing.
"Well, now my appetite is ruined." Stain sighs out as he leans back into his seat before raising a brow at him. "Did you come sit with me hoping to score a date? I know I'm handsome but I'm not into guys. Maybe yet." He shrugs his shoulders with a smirk as he winks at Theo who rolls his eyes.
"How long have you been here? Today?" Theo asks as he leans onto the table while placing his phone on the side. "Since morning?"
"Since around nine maybe." He shrugs his shoulders once more. "Why? Did you want this seat?"
"No, but you're making Kaia uncomfortable. It's her work place and we can't have you-."
"This is a diner." Stain points out as he interrupts Theo who straightens his back. "I thought I'm allowed to eat here."
"There are countless diners-."
"It's still a diner." Stain cuts him off once more, getting him to clench his jaw. "If she doesn't want me here, she can quit. I'll keep coming because it's a freaking diner."
Theo sighs as he knows there is no way to even get him to leave or convince him to stop coming.
He knows he has to be gentle with Stain just so he doesn't trigger him into a physical fight. But Theo can tolerance only so much and he's almost at his limit.
Sitting in front of Stain alone makes his muscles itch because he's really already falling for Kaia.
She seems kind and eager to take things to a serious level just like he is.
But Stain is in the way of that.
"I don't know if you've noticed-" Theo clears his throat as he shoves his irritation down his throat, trying to still remain calm and collected. "- but Kaia is a really good person, she's sweet and she deserves the most."
"Oh, it nearly took you twenty-four hours to realize that." Stain rolls his eyes slightly as his smirk drops into a frown. "Congratulations."
"You're her ex, I know. But she wants someone to lead her into a life she can look forward to." Theo explains as he drops his gaze down to the tattoos on Stain's arm. "She wants to fall in love, get married and have kids. I want that too with her. If you care about her then stop making her life a living nightmare."
Stain glares at Theo as he clenches his jaw, getting his grey eyes to turn into a sinister gaze as he doesn't look away from him.
"You have the nerve to even think you are good enough for her." Stain says through clenched teeth as he leans on the table as well, closing the distance between them as they both don't break eye contact. "And to top it off you think I'm the problem. Oh wow, you're such a gentleman aren't you?"
"You are the problem, you're obsessed and can't stop following her since you met her." Theo groans out in frustration. "You need to stop being in her comfort zone. I wish I had met her sooner, way before you came in because you're making it hard for me to get to know her and it's just our second day. You're like a splinter in a fingernail."
"I don't give a sh*t." Stain furrows his brows as he drops his gaze to the table. "I don't care. I'm here to make her life a living hell as she did to mine. I don't care if it bothers you."
"Sure, you want to get revenge for what? Breaking up with you? So childish." Theo sighs as he leans back into his seat and glances towards Kaia who has just been given his order and is bringing it to him. "You have a girlfriend, you got back at her. Now leave her alone." He explains and smiles up at Kaia who smiles back at him though watching Stain from the corner of her eye.
She places the potato salad she got for him right in front of him, along with a small drink to ease his throat.
"Thanks." Theo winks up at her, getting her to blush and look away.
"Get me something to eat too." Stain says as he glances up at her, feeling annoyed when she is visibly being fluttered by a man she barely even knows. "You know what I like."
Theo frowns and glares at Stain who smirks at him as Kaia walks away, knowing too well he's trying to upset him.
She knows if she gets him the wrong order, he wouldn't pay for it.
Theo doesn't say anything more and turns his attention to his meal instead, knowing he can't start another conversation whilst eating.
Stain redirects his eyes back to Theo who is so concentrated on his meal that he isn't even looking at him.
"Ah, so you're the type to actually mind table manners?" Stain chuckles out as he crosses his arms over his chest and tilts his head to the side. "You're cute, aren't you?"
"So you're into men now?" Theo asks once he clears his mouth. "Sorry but I'm not."
"You wish I did." Stain rolls his eyes as he sighs and glances over to Kaia who is walking back to him with his meal.
She places the plate in front of him, getting him to grin out when he notices she didn't decide to work against him.
It is a simple rice dish with a large egg fried on the outside but slightly undercooked on the inside.
Stain grabs his fork and does his favorite part, slitting the half fried omelette in half, allowing the insides to pour over the entire portion of rice as the creamy insides start to slide off along with some vegetables and meat pieces that had been stuffed inside.
Kaia was the one that first prepared it for him, back at her home when he insisted he wanted something nice that she could cook. There after, he almost wanted to eat that one meal all day and she couldn't do it for him since she had work.
So he forced the diner to add it to their menu and it's now one of their best selling dishes.
Stain takes a spoon full and groans out as he leans back into the seat before glancing back up at Kaia who is caught off guard when she didn't notice she was staring at him for a while.
"It's really good. But not as great as when you made it for me at your place." Stain explains as he takes another spoonful, talking with his mouth still stuffed in rice and egg. "I'll drop by and you have to make me some. I'll pay you if you want."
"I'll just make it here, next time. No need to come to my place." She shrugs her shoulders before leaving as Theo clenches his jaw tightly while jabbing his fork into the steak that came with the potato salad.
