I lied. I fucken lied. I'm up, at the usual 7. Going to work. Trinity wouldn't stop laughing at me because I kept talking about how I'm so done.
"TRINITY IF YOU DON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP-" I yell at the top of my lungs and she just doubles in laughter clenching her stomach.
I can't hold it any longer. I laugh along with her. She has such a contagious laugh and the fact that she's so dead over this issue is making this even more funnier.
I drag my feet to the kitchen to go make a quick bite to eat before we leave. Even though I've had my shower and stuff I still look like my problems.
"Girl, that was a great way to kick start my day. I love you so much man" Trinity is going to be the death of me I swear.
"What are you guys so happy about this morning. The Friday spirit already kicked in?" asks a sleepy Rena.
Rena is also our roommate. She's lesbian, 25 and a badass. She's the coolest older sister ever. I've never had an older sister so she just naturally took on that role when we first met.
"Someone's not so happy about going to work today." sings Triny.
I will literally kill her and bury her under a toilet or something!
"Shut uppppp" I groan at her and she chuckles before taking her fruit salad and heading for the door.
"Make fast fast. There's gonna be traffic today and don't ask me dumb questions like how do I know. Just make fast" says Triny.
I hug Rena and give her what's left of my breakfast and grab my water bottle. Trinity is starting to pick up on the way I speak sometimes and it's so funny to hear.
I'm sort of half coloured. From my dads side. And then my mom? I don't really know. Maybe Zulu or something. I never really asked her and we just never spoke about ethnicities at home. I knew about my dad bc well, we spent a lot of time with his side of the family.
"Can't you find a sugar daddy on our behalf so I don't have to suffer like this?" I ask as I get into the car.
"Mxm, be serious man. But you're almost done with school" she reminds me.
"Yes, I'm so excited man! One more year and then I'm graduating with my degree!!" I squeal in excitement and the energy flows through me like an electric bolt.
And just like that, we're greeting our first customer of the day. I think back to the topic of my degree and remember that I have to pay my fees since it's jan now and I've paid my registration.
I'm studying marketing at a private business college. I'm obviously studying part time because I need to work and pay for my own fees and living expenses etc.
It wasn't easy the first year but now it's just like water -it flows."We're going out tonight" says Indy. She's a colleague.
We go out with her every now and then. She's cool peoples I guess. It's just that sometimes she hangs around very questionable people. They just look scary. She says they're nice but I'm not stupid. Her friends have really flashy cars and flashy lifestyles.
She usually leaves the country with them on vacations and stuff. Babes is living the life for really. I just don't trust her and its moes okay since we're not that close anyway. Trinity likes her and trusts her.
I think it's because she's dating one of Indys friends - scary dude. I don't know. I don't trust the whole thing. But I've been procrastinating the whole meeting them thing so I know they won't let it slide this time. Plus I could do with a lit weekend.
"Where are we going?" I finally ask after Triny and I eye each other back and forth.
"Zanzou" ah! My sister you can see there's no future here.
"Be so for real right now" Trinity rolls her eyes and chuckles.
"We're going to a new spot called BLACK. It's very lowkey and exclusive but it gets lit." Triny says.
"Oh so you already knew about this?" I eye her.
"Yeah obviously my man already told me and well Indy confirmed" she says like it's the most black and white shit.
"Okay, cool. Will Rena be coming?" I ask.
"Nah, she said something about spending the weekend with bae since she's leaving next month" says Triny while stacking up some stuff.
"Ugh yeah, I keep forgetting that she's leaving us all alone with no one at all. How the fuck are we gonna afford living there if she leaves?" I ask a chilled Triny.
"My man said he'll pay for us." She says like it's the most normal thing in the world.
"Your man?! Are you serious? Like are you reg in the head?" I question her while I grimace.
"Yho girl, do you have a new roommate for us or the money? You're welcome" she says getting annoyed.
"Askies maar jy moet dink, you expect me to just accept this with open arms? This man doesn't know me now he wants to pay our bills?" Like is she befok?
I love her na but jerrr! She must moes think. What if one day he wants his money back if they don't work out? I don't know maybe I'm overreacting.
"Girl, it's fine. I trust him." She says with a genuine smile. And I sigh in defeat. I'll just let it slide but we need to find an extra real soon. And a good one at that. We still have some time.
For now I can just save my money because apparently he'll be paying for the whole thing not just hers and Renas. I can use this extra money to buy a second hand car or a bike. Okay, maybe this whole boyfriend paying the bills isn't such a bad idea. I might like this new guy.
The old guy was trash. He was a lazy piece. He just ate off my friend. Literally! She was paying his bills and buying groceries, buying him clothes and even giving him pocket money for when he wanted to go out with his friends.
I have no problem with spoiling your man but this one wouldn't even go for job interviews when she found him one and over that, he had pride. He would say that this job is too low tier for him. Like?! How are you unemployed, broke and living off your GIRLFRIEND and still feel entitled enough to high tier jobs?
