In New York,

Reva's pov:

I was in my office, going over designs and jewelry for our upcoming fashion show when there was a knock on the door. I, in my usual cold tone, said, "Come in!"

My assistant Olivia entered, looking worried and scared. Even though she was usually afraid of me, her face showed that something was wrong.

"What's the matter?" I asked, getting straight to the point. I don't like people making up stories.

"Ma'am, actually..." Olivia started, her voice trembling.

"Speak up, Olivia. I don't like repeating myself," I said impatiently.

"Ma'am, the place we had chosen for our fashion show isn't available for the whole month," she explained.

I was furious because this fashion show meant everything to me. "How is that possible? We already made a deal with them. Are you sure? Double-check!" I snapped.

"They mentioned construction issues, and they offered an alternative location with compensation," she stammered.

I lost my temper. "Forget their compensation! Make sure they lose not only our contract but also contracts with other major companies in New York. And don't make any mistakes, or you'll be fired. Got it?"

"O-okay, Ma'am," she replied nervously and left.

Frustrated, I banged my hand on the table. I sat back, closing my eyes, thinking about how to find a suitable location for our fashion show.

My thoughts were interrupted by another knock. "Come in," I said, annoyed.

"Hey, Reva, what's bothering you? Why are you so irritated?" Edwin, my trusted friend and bodyguard and my brother, asked.

Yes my brother because in New York, he was my only family. He had supported me when no one else did. For the whole world we only have a relation of boss and bodyguard but for us , it's more than that.

"Bhai, you know the place we found for our fashion show has construction issues, and it'll take a month to fix!" I vented.

"Calm down, girl!" Edwin Bhai advised.

I explained the importance of the show and my ambitions for our fashion industry.

"Okay, we'll find a solution. And don't forget, you need to call your brother today," Edwin Bhai reminded me.

I dialed my brother's number, trying to sound confident, but my voice trembled.
"Hello" I said.

"Hey, are you okay, baccha?" Rajat bhai asked.
"Bhai... I am good" I said .
I missed him terribly but couldn't reveal my emotions.
"When will you return home baccha? Why are you not telling me anything?"Bhai asked .

I assured him I'd explain everything when the time was right.

"When will the right time come, Reva?" he asked with concern.

"Very soon, bhai. Take care, and remember, don't trust anyone," I warned.

"Love you too, and dadi misses you. Hope you'll visit soon," he said, revealing our grandmother's ill health.

I couldn't hold back tears, but I had to end the call without saying goodbye. Afterward, I removed and destroyed the SIM card.

Overwhelmed with emotions, I turned to Edwin Bhai , hugged him, and cried.
