Masculinity can be defined in many ways,
One could be an ever growing city.
A city where toxic fumes fill the skies,
Everything that is pretty has to die.Handsome and strong,
Pretty and beautiful have no room in the word masculinity.
Men can't be feminine,
Men can't even be feminists,
They have no room in the word masculine.Masculine is strong, Masculine is powerful,
But I am sorry.
I just have to Disagree,
Masculine has no definition.
It is clouded with stereotypes and labelsMasculine is whatever you want it to be,
It is the realisation that Men do cry,
Men do struggle,
Men can speak out.
Masculine doesn't have a definition.POETS NOTES
I must say that in no way is this criticising the male gender, it is more as awareness of stereotypes surrounding the male gender and how the modern society adds to these. Not criticism or hate.
I am a gender fluid so I have experienced the forced conformity of the closest and pressures from society to present myself as 'masculine' so in writing these I hope to break down stigma and stereotypes against all genders and also educate. If none of this makes sense or if anyone is confused in any way please contact me and I will try and resolve issues or delete anything you may think is harmful or offensive.
If the poem does cause anyone harm or distress please leave a comment in order for me to explain or take down the poem.
Many thanks,
BellePoesie.
