Hinata paced around his bedroom, knowing it was Tuesday, so he was going to have to study again

Nerves wasn't the problem, though
The pair hadn't texted on Sunday, and tsukishima wasn't at school on Monday due to sleeping in, then not bothering to come in at all, so they didn't talk then either

Excitement was the issue. hinata went to sleep on Monday night kicking around in his bed, not being able to sleep all because he was excited to see tsukishima

"Shoyo, come on, get in the car. You're going to be late," shoyos mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs as natsu skipped down them in her school uniform

"What?" Hinata said quietly as he checked the time, revealing it was 7:58, and he should already be on his way to school

He packed his bag, trying to recall what lessons he had, then grabbed a hoodie to go under his blazer, which was actually against the uniform dress code, but every teacher had already given up on telling him to take it off at this point

Then he grabbed his phone, and airpods of the desk slipped on his shoes and dashed out the house

"You're late." Kageyama stated

"shit really?I didn't notice," hinata said sarcastically as he approached kageyama after walking into the gym for volleyball practise

"Maybe if you answered my text telling you not to be late, you wouldn't have been."

"...I would have, but I forgot to charge my phone last night, so I did it this morning,"

Kageyama rolled his eyes before picking up a volleyball and calling yachi to throw them up a few tosses

Tsukishima watched as hinata spiked yet another one of kageyamas sets. He felt that somewhat new feeling arise in his stomach yet again

Jealousy

"Go talk to him," Yamaguchi demanded, noticing the face tsukishima was making and what was causing it as he'd felt it many times before

"Are you weird?" Tsukishima asked

Yamaguchis mouth opened in a state of shock before laughing

"No, I am not. What's wrong with going to talk to him? "

"I can't just walk up to him and be like 'oh hinata. I want to talk to you, so stop playing volleyball with your best friend and talk to me.'" Tsukishima mocked

Yamaguchi thought about it for a second and realised what tsukishima was getting at . Luckily, the duo who was practising stopped for a break kageyama went to grab his water bottle, and hinata was making his way over to yamaguchi and tsukishima

Yamaguchi started walking towards hinata while tsukishima stayed put, yamaguchi pulled hinata in for a hug they talked for a second or two, and Yamaguchi continued walking to kageyama

'Fuck you tadashi.'tsukishima thought to himself as the Jealousy wore off and the nerves kicked in

"TSUKISHIMAAAA!!"hinata shouted as he ran over to tsukishima arms open awaiting a hug which was usually as hinata was big on hugs, what wasn't usual was the urge to want to hug hinata back as tsukishima would usually swerve in the opposite direction or shout no, but this time he wanted the hug more than anything but he couldn't.

It would have been out of the ordinary for anyone watching, but there was an alternative

"HI hi hi hi," hinata repeated over and over again, which was a very obvious indicator that he was happy as he'd usually repeat words over and over whenever he was happy
