26. Running will get you nowhere

"Dad! Dad" Tuk called out in a whispering tone as she and Meya saw Jake turning the corner and run towards them both, cutting their cuffs "where is your sister? Where is she?" Jake asked in the same tone "that way" Tuk said looking the behind Jake slightly "okay, both of you stay behind me" Jake said but they turned around to see Quaritch holding a knife to Kiri's throat "kiri!" Meya called out but Jake kept her and Tuk behind him in protection "running out of time here, Corporal. You already lost one kid today, you really want to lose another?" Quaritch asked but Jake was desperate to get to him but Quaritch put the knife up to Kiri's neck more "do not test me!" Quaritch threatened "just kill him dad!" Kiri shouted but Quaritch was quick to shut her up.

"Weapons down" Quaritch ordered "do it!" he demanded so Jake did what he was told in order to protect Kiri "kick them away" he said as Jake kicked them away before Quaritch threw a pair of cuffs at towards him "cuff yourself" he demanded before Spider ran in in hopes to prevent Quaritch from hurting Kiri "no! No, don't hurt her, okay?" Spider pleaded "stand there! Don't move! Not a step!" Quaritch strictly told spider but they didn't realise Neytiri was sneaking up behind them.

Neytiri snuck behind Spider pulling her own dagger to his neck which surprised Quaritch "release. Or I cut" she threatened "what, you think I care about some kid? He's not mine. We're not even the same species" Quaritch snarked "just... don't hurt her" Spider pleaded "mom, don't kill him" Kiri pleaded "a son for a son" Neytiri scowled before tilting her head at Spider so Neytiri scratched his chest with her knife "I cut" she said, Quaritch staring at her before she raised her knife ready to hurt him "no!" Quaritch yelled raising his knife away from Kiri.

Neytiri looked back at Quaritch and saw how he dropped and released Kiri and it took her a moment for her to do the same "spider" Kiri, Meya and Tuk ran over to him and stayed behind Neytiri "Spider get them out of here" Jake ordered keeping his eyes locked on Quaritch "I owe you a death" Quaritch threatened making Neytiri angrily hiss at him, Tuk tried to pull her away talking to her in an innocent voice "come on, mama. Please... mama!" Tuk pleaded "you're not leaving, are you Jake? Knowing I'm out there and I'm never going to stop? I'm coming for you and when I do, I'll kill your whole family. And maybe consider that green one" Quaritch threatened now bring Meya into the situation.

Jake stared at him with a fire inside him before making any decisions "then let's get it done" he said as the pair of them started to fight violently with each other. The others tried to swim away but a fire started to light and began a fire that nearly surrounded them all "this way!" Spider exclaimed as they all tried to flee but they had no choice but to get back on the ship and try a different way by going on the ship.

They tried to watch their step but slipped and was dangling from Neytiri's hand as she was trying to not fall into a gap in the floor but their hands was slippery from being in the water making Tuk fall in "Tuk!" Neytiri exclaimed as she went in after Tuk leaving Spider, Meya and Spider above the water "mom!!" Kiri exclaimed "Tuk!!" Meya also exclaimed but Spider managed to get them away back into the water and help them get to a safe distance until Lo'ak arrived on an Ilu "get on" he said as Spider, Kiri and Meya managed to get on.
