—First Person POV.—
It's quiet for a long moment.
The seconds feel like they're dragging by with weights attached to their ankles.
And the Red leans back a bit further into the cage, hands raised slightly as if to silently offer me room when I had made no attempt at moving despite his words of reassurance.
It's a small gesture, but a part of me appreciates it.
I rest my posture, allowing the frazzled coat along my back to relax as I moved to sit up—his eyes follow when I slowly shift, body growing and fur dispersing into (h/l) strands that flopped onto my shoulders.
I keep my weary gaze on his when I stretch my arms and legs out, a feeling of satisfaction briefly flickering over my features before I pulled my knees to my chest.
The air had grown stiff with silence.
"..Where am I?" My voice comes out barely above a whisper and there's an audible rasp along with it—causing my expression to grimace at the unfamiliar tone in distaste.
The Red pauses, low-lidded eyes blinking in thought before a sigh brushes through his mask, the noise twisting through the room in an echo that drips from the stone walls.
"I'm not going to beat around the bush," He starts off, causing my brows to furrow as he relaxed his back against the other side of the cages bars.
There's a pause as if he was contemplating his next words "You're stuck in here with me," And with a glance over my weary form, a short chuff escapes his chest "—I'm stuck in here with you."
It's hard for my eyes to get a good look at him due to his spot in the shadows, easily hiding his defining features but not the fact this man was absolutely massive.
A giant who cranes his head to the side in a curious motion.
"They brought you in here with that muzzle, guessing the tranquilizer wore off?" He inquires, voice effortlessly breaking the silence once more.
"I woke up just as they were taking me in a wagon." I nod in confirmation, finally taking a moment to turn my gaze away from him.
My ears flick up with the sound of movement outside of the door, eyes locking onto the metal and watching for any shadows beneath the crack.
The Red hums in acknowledgment and I turn back to see him watching me still, dark eyes flickering away from mine for a brief moment as he clears his throat.
"How long have I been in here?" I wonder, shifting slightly in my spot in an attempt to get comfortable on the stone floor.
His attention is back on me again "Ten minutes, and thirty-five, thirty-six seconds." There's another pause as his eyes avert away, now seemingly aware of his previous staring problem.
"Thirty-nine, fourty.." He continues to mumble, voice trailing off and causing a snort to escape my lips—my brows furrowed incredulously towards the Red, who chuckles in return "Okay, I'm done."
"There's no way you actually counted that." I shake my head, a smile presenting itself along my features as the man shrugs "There's not much else to do in here."
There's a playful tinge to his words but the actual insinuation behind it makes my shoulders slouch—suddenly reminded that right now, we are stuck in a cage.
The Red pauses towards the way my expression drops and I tighten my legs to my chest, eyes casting to the side now.
And another sigh brushes through his mask "Listen, it's going to be okay, I promise." There's a rustle of movement—making my attention snap back onto his figure as he leaned off of the bars and towards me.
