A Quiet Day

The sound of waves crashing against the shore was music to the ears of Billy Hargrove who was laying on a beach chair letting himself relax for the first time in forever.

Argyle was out trying to teach the kiddos and Steve how to surf while the girls were in the house enjoying some personal time.

When he would be at the beach as a kid he would always fear his fathers wrath and then the beach became a constant reminder of his mother who abandoned him with the monster to find her own peace.

Taking a deep breath and pushing those horrible memories aside he pulled out his journal that held proof of good memories.

As he opened it Billy noticed Steve had just written "hey handsome we need some us time".

Billy sat up and smiled when Steve waved at him.

"Well then get your cute little ass over here and let me spread some suntan lotion on your pale ass skin" Billy wrote back and got "catch me first" as a response.

Billy growled at the invite and then got another amazing thought and  he wrote "Maybe Argyle will stay here with the girls and the two of us can grab a hotel for the night".

He could see Steve getting giddy from where he was before he received a yes with a heart.

Billy closed his eyes and was about to go back to relaxing when he felt someone touch his shoulder. Opening his eyes he looked around but didn't see anyone.

Shrugging it off he closed his eyes and a few minutes later he felt what felt like someone run their hand down his face and opened his eyes quickly and again no one was there.

"Fuck I'm going insane" he said to himself as he sat up in time to watch Lucas ride a wave all the way back to the beach.

Billy smiled and knew that Lucas was the only one in that group that had any physicality to him. Max could board on land but put her in water, she is a flop. She also had no passion for any sports. The others were just out of luck in that department.

He decided it was time he took Lucas under his wing to teach him the finer touches of surfing but when Billy got up and started getting his board ready to join the others, he stopped in his tracks when he felt something metal touch his back.

"Come quietly handsome and you'll be just fine or should I blow your brains out in front of your stepsister?" A woman's voice said from behind him.

"Fine but I'm taken and you're ruining our fucking vacation bitch" Billy said with a growl as he allowed the woman to guide him to a small cave near the edge of the beach.

Little did she know that Billy scrawled down in his soulmate journal what was going on and Steve was watching where they were headed.

Whispering to Argyle he rounded up the kids and Argyle headed towards the cave while Steve herded the kids inside by telling them it was time to start dinner.

Argyle silently approached the cave and looked inside.

A woman had Billy sitting on a rock with a gun pointed to his forehead.

"Now sweetie I need you to hear out my friend ok. They've waited a long time to find you and here you are" the woman said and motioned towards the darkness.

Argyle watched as a  woman in what he could pin around her early forties with graying blonde hair but blue eyes that even shone in the dark.

The woman walked over to the other and kissed her and then turned to face Billy.

"You've grown so much my boy, how I've missed you. Now you're home and we will never be separated again" the woman exclaimed and before Billy could say anything she stabbed him in the neck with a needle and he collapsed.

With a wave of her hand the blonde woman made Billy vanish and then the two women followed after.

Argyle stood staring at the place they disappeared from for minutes before he shook himself free of the shock and sprinted back towards the house.

Even though he was in a hurry Argyle made sure to leave his shoes in the mud room, shook off as much sand as possible and continued inside thankful everyone was chilling in the living room.

The minute Steve saw Argyle's eyes he knew something was wrong.

Grabbing his journal he started writing "are you ok" over and over again his tears staining the page as he did.

Argyle went over to Steve and wrapped his arms around him and said "we will find him".

"What the fuck is going on?" Max and Robin said at the same time.

"Language young lady" Argyle and Steve said at the same time.

Max stopped in her tracks.

"Now I will explain what I saw. A woman took Billy to one of the caves holding him hostage with a gun and then another woman came, waved her hand and they all disappeared" Argyle said, taking Steve's shaking hand into his own hand.

"We will get him back I promise" Argyle said, his eyes showing his anger but his face was as cool as a cucumber.

Steve squeezed Argyle's hand feeling the same safety he did when Billy would hold his hand.

Meanwhile at a house miles away laying on an old couch Billy was still out.

"He's going to be angry," one of the women said softly while stroking his hair.

The other woman stroked her hair and said "he will understand Mary, don't worry".

"I'm not sure about that but I can always count on you to make me feel more at peace, my Myra" Mary said, turning and kissing Myra softly then returned to stroking Billy's hair.

"He always liked it long," Mary said as Billy started to stir and both lady's backed up and braced themselves for the incoming storm.
