When Lisa woke up, he had been in a coma for two months.

As usual, Jisoo entered the room in a white hospital gown and a face mask, only to see Lisa's eyes open. He raised his eyebrows and asked incredulously, "Am I dreaming?" Are you awake?

On the bed, Lisa looked calm and cold. He looked emotionless at the man in the white gown by the bedside. A long time passed before he frowned. "How long did I sleep?"

His voice was unusually hoarse.

"How long did you sleep?" Jisoo resisted the urge to call Irene at once and stared at Lisa, who was obviously still a bit unconscious. "Two months. Is it long?"

The man on the bed frowned slightly. He didn't speak for a moment, as if he was trying hard to figure out something.

It was not convenient to use a cell phone in the ward. Jisoo put his hand into his pocket and stared at Lisa wonderingly. The latter's look was a bit strange. Although he always looked indifferent and cold, there seemed to be something more in his eyes and at the same time, something less in his eyes.

"You're fortunate to survive this accident. Irene hasn't waited in vain." Jisoo smiled and sighed.

But when Lisa heard the name Irene, he suddenly raised his head and narrowed his dark eyes. "Irene?"

"Hey..." Jisoo raised his eyebrows. "The steel bars in the car hurt your cervical vertebrae and spine, which are connected to the nerves in your brain. Have you lost your fxcking memory?"

Lisa kept silent and raised his long forefinger against his temple. He didn't seem very sober yet.

"Damn, don't tell me you really have amnesia! Then Irene will cry her heart out!" Jisoo was about to step forward and examine him.

Before his hand touched him, the man on the bed frowned and coldly said, "No, I remember everything."

There was a strong sense of alienation in his voice, which was not aimed at him, but at the name Irene.

Jisoo felt a bit strange. Lisa had just woken up, and no one had offended him, but his alienating and cold aura that belonged to a superior was too strong. He hesitated and then asked, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, but I have a bad headache." Lisa's voice was low and husky. He closed his eyes because he was not used to the light in the ward.

Jisoo turned to draw the curtain, and when he turned back, he saw that Lisa had opened his eyes. The room suddenly darkened, obscuring his unfathomable eyes.

Jisoo turned on the light in the ward and took out his cell phone to check the time. "I'll go out and call your doctor and parents, and then I'll call Irene, who must have arrived at the airport by now. She had waited for you for two months and was just about to go back to Hai City to visit her father. You woke up just in time. Hopefully, she hasn't boarded the plane yet."

Lisa calmly looked at the phone that Jisoo took out. He paid attention to the model of the phone and remained silent without saying a word.

...

An hour later, medical staff came and went into the ward. Shaoze Manoban and Wan Zhu, after getting the news, rushed to the hospital, but before they saw Lisa, the door of the ward had been closed again.

Lisa didn't see anyone.

The ward was dimly lit, and the man on the bed felt his throat hurt. Jisoo closed the door as he went out. Lisa lay quietly back in bed, staring at the white ceiling. The air conditioning was barely audible in the empty luxury ward.

He closed his eyes.

During his sleep, he had a long dream.

He remembered who he was. He remembered who Irene was.

He remembered how the accident happened and how Irene rolled off the car in front of him. He remembered the moment the steel pierced his shoulder as the massive impact took place. He also remembered her crying desperately in the car, and Feng Ling shouting that her lower body was bleeding. He remembered...

His cell phone was placed beside his bed, and he didn't know if anyone had charged it in two months. Lisa opened his eyes. After two months of sleep and recuperation, his wounds had healed. He could easily get up and raise his hands now. He took the phone from the white table beside the bed.

The date shown on the phone was March 13, 200x.

He paused for a moment, and his head began to ache again. There were dozens of missed calls and unread text messages on his phone, most of them from Irene.

[Lisa, I'm scared.]

[When will you wake up...]

[I failed to protect our baby. You're angry, aren't you?]

[I dreamed you woke up.]

[Love you.]

[Lisa, I love you very, very much, so don't keep sleeping like this. Wake up.]

[If I knew you would save my life this way, I would have died with Su Xueyi in that car rather than watch you die for me.]

[It's so cold today, but I can't live in your ward. Is your bed very warm? Can I go to sleep with you?]

[I haven't seen you for half a month. I miss you so much...]

[The doctor said you would probably keep sleeping like this. You don't want me anymore?]

[Lisa, I'm missing you.]

[You still don't want to wake up?]

[I'm scared. I'm scared every day.]

...

The man on the bed quietly read those messages. He remained expressionless until he had read all of them. He read each message carefully with his black, icy eyes, and then clicked on the delete-all option.

Then, Lisa rubbed between his eyebrows and found the phone number of the head of the center of the legal affairs office of the Mo Corporation in his cell phone's address book.

After the phone was connected, the other side asks in surprise, "President Manoban?"

"Prepare two copies of a divorce settlement by the end of the month."

"Divorce settlement? Who—who wants a divorce?"

"Irene and I."

The marriage began in Hai City Civil Affairs Bureau. According to the law, it must be ended there too.

Jisoo had just opened the door of the ward with the medicine when he heard Lisa's words. He almost dropped the medicine bottles and looked at the cold, pale-faced man in shock.

Lisa didn't show any change of expression as Jisoo came in. He hung up the phone, threw the phone aside, and closed his eyes.

"You're divorcing Irene?" Jisoo frowned.

He knew Lisa very well. Although many people could not understand Lisa, Nan Heng and Jisoo, who had been with him for so many years, were always more understanding than curious about what Lisa did. He never did anything impulsive or unreasonable. He was too calm and rational. He was not only impeccable in business, but also absolutely rational on the issues of marriage and romance and wouldn't allow any misunderstanding or flaws to occur.

But he slept for two months, and the first thing he did when he woke up was to divorce Irene?!
