Chapter 7

Lilly was sure Amy's Leg was broken, which it wouldn't have been if she hadn't been wearing her Leather Chaps, her blood would of killed it before any real damage had been done.
They'd been driving for five hours and Ty asked his Mum how Amy was.
Lilly had been checking her every hour but now she had a fever and was sweating badly. Amy was mumbling and not making any sense.
Ty pulled over at the next Rest Stop and went to the Locked cabinet pulling out a large clear plastic packing case which included a Medical Journal.
Lilly had worked at the Clinic as a Doctors assistant and had done some extensive training. She wasn't a Doctor or a Triage Nurse, but she did know what she was doing, like injections,  stitching wounds and Putting broken bones in Plaster of Paris. Ty walked inside the Trailer and handed his Mum the Container.
It had everything inside it, lots of smaller containers, Injection containers,  Antibiotics, Antidotes ect.
Ty checked on Amy and he felt the heat coming off her before he'd even touched her.
Ty went back to the Truck and checked there route on the Sat-nav, they'd  driven through Calgary and continued north to Entwistle,  turned Left onto the Yellow Head Highway towards BC, they'd already gone through STYLE, GRANADA, NOJACK, and EDSON, the next place was HINTON.
Ty looked at his phone and saw he had a strong Signal, he thought the must have a Signal Mast very close to them, they'd been through a lot of small towns.
He went on the Internet looking for Hospitals near HINTON.
Bingo, there was a Hospital called The HINTON HEALTHCARE CENTRE  in Hinton about 15 minutes away.
He radioed through to Brad with where they were going and they set off. Ty radioed through to his mum in the Trailer to ask how Amy was doing.
Not well and her temperature is getting higher,  Lilly replied.
We're five minutes away from the Hospital replied Ty.
A few minutes later and they pulled up at the A & E entrance. The doors were locked, but Ty saw a Bell with a speaker. Unfortunately the damn thing wasn't working, Ty was losing patience and got ready to shoot the Door out when he saw a Doctor and two nurses running towards him along the corridor all shaking their heads saying No.
Ty lowered the Rifle and slung it over his shoulder, he put his hand up to let them know everything was alright and he'd wait for them.

A couple of hours later they'd all introduced themselves and Amy was in A & E.
One of the nurses went with Ty and Brad to park up the Trucks and Trailers around the back of the hospital,  it was a very large parking area inside , as soon as they had parked up, the roller Shutters came down sealing them inside.
Ty ran to Amy who'd just had an X-Ray and was on her way back to the A & E Dept.
'Hi Doc, how is she, is it an infection in the broken bone.'
'I'm afraid it is.'
They spoke about the break and the Antibiotics he was giving her. Thankfully it was a clean break and her leg was put in Plaster.
The Doctor who was called Evan explained to Ty that he didn't want the door's damaged as they were the only thing keeping them safely locked in. Ty understood and asked if they wanted to join them to the place called Sanctuary.
Evan thanked him but had a few stories to tell about a certain place called Sanctuary, he said they needed to be careful as it wasn't what it seemed. He wasn't sure what was going on but thought the government or something else was involved in some sort of testing, or some devious group.

Ty was with Amy all night and by the morning her fever had broken. Later on they reset her leg and put it in a plaster cast.
They stayed for three weeks and the X-Rays showed the bone was knitting together, Evan was happy with the way it was repairing itself, so he cut the cast in half and then put it back together using Cable Zip Ties and then bandaged it up.
This would allow them to use a pair of scissors and wire cutters to take it off when it's healed.
Once Evan was pleased with the result of Amy's Leg the others prepared to get things together for the journey.
