Chapter 4.

Amy finally got herself together, knowing they were dead was different to actually seeing them dead. The first thing she did was build some steps up to her bedroom window using boxes left round the side of the house, she stepped up and checked her bedroom, the door was closed and no bugs inside so she opened the window and climbed inside. Amy threw out bags of clothes, boots and anything else she needed.

She put it all in the truck, then her weapons, bullets and Bolts.
Next she connected the Large Horse trailer, food and Hay, saddles and Harnesses. The last thing was Midnight and Paint.
Amy didn't want to stay at Heartland while it burnt. Thankfully Jack's bedroom was also safe and Amy was able to get the box with the Bartlett's Family momento's including A few photos and jewellery.
As Amy drove up the Driveway she looked in her side mirror seeing her family home in flames. Amy hoped the Cabin would be clear so she could stay there for a few days, then she'd return to Heartland, and kill off any Parasites left.
As Amy drove to the Cabin she looked behind her one last time, in the far distance she saw Black smoke billowing above the tree's. She'd Shut and locked the gate leaving a sign she'd printed off to say the Ranch was infested with parasites and the farm was being cleansed so stay away, then signed her name.
She put the radio on hoping there was still a station on air and hopefully some news about the death toll.
It didn't take long till the radio picked up a station and the news was devastating, most of the human race were dead, over 6.5 Billion wiped out within 4 months. It happened so quickly that it overwhelmed every country and being unable to stop it, there was no cure, the only way to stop the diseases from rotting corpses and take away the creature's food supply was to put
whole City's on fire after they were evacuated to try and wipe out the Parasites, Jets ,Bombers and attack Helicopters fired incendiary bombs and rocket's everywhere, the Helicopters went in to fire on buildings that escaped the bombers and Jets, the more people that became infected the quicker the infection spread and once the Parasites showed up it escalated, most people who became infected were dead within 3 days. The problem was bodies not collected and burnt became breeding vessels, it took a parasite just a few days to grow once it started feeding, some of the larger ones grew quicker due to eating the smaller ones.
Eventually the Army's of the world succumbed to the bacteria, except for the lucky one's who were immune.
It was estimated that there could be about 5 million Humans, Adults and Children who have survived all together throughout the world.
The Army's of each country did there best to try and destroy as many bodies and infested City's, unfortunately the rest of the clean up will be up to the survivors.
Hopefully with no more humans to infect, the Bacteria will die out.

Amy continued along on her journey, she was crying at the loss of life, and of her loss. She hadn't really had time to grieve for her mom and dad and now her sister and Grandfather. About an hour later Amy saw another
Large Truck coming towards her.
They both slowed down as they approached each other as people were still scared, you may be immune to the bacteria but not other humans with no conscience and would kill you just for your belongings.
Amy waved at them and saw a family, mother ,father and two little girls.
Amy stopped, so they stopped and they started talking, she found out they were heading for the Sanctuary in Alaska.
Amy told them about their blood being poisonous to the parasites, and not to stop for anyone, to take the quiet back roads. They wished each other the best and each went on their way.
Amy eventually made it to the Fishing Cabin, she sorted out Midnight and Paint, made a fire in the wood Stove, then got the items she'd managed to source from a local shop into a large pot added water and some herbs then put it on the stove.
Jack had put the wood burning stove in a while back and got rid of the open fire for safety reasons, it also kept the Cabin warm in the chilly nights.
After her meal and a Hot Chocolate drink Amy bolted the door and got into bed.
