the girl stood nervously in front of the boy, her arms outstretched as if offering a sacrifice. in her hands, she held a small gift box wrapped in red paper and tied with a silver ribbon. she had spent hours choosing the perfect gift for him, hoping that he would appreciate her gesture. she lowered her head, unable to meet his gaze.

"sunghoon, i like you! i've been meaning to ask you for a long time to go out with me..." sooha waited for sunghoon's response, hoping that he would accept her feelings. she hoped that he would smile, hug her, and say yes. she hoped that he would open the gift box and see the bracelet that she had made for him. she hoped that he would wear it and think of her.

but none of that happened.

"please stop with these jokes, i don't have time for this. i'll see you at lunch." he replied coldly, pushing away her gift box and walking past her. she turned around, catching sunghoon's wrist.

"i am not joking. i've had feelings for you this whole time." sunghoon turned his head towards her and sighed. he didn't look angry or annoyed. he looked bored and tired.

"sooha i-"

"is it because you don't have time for dating? just stop hanging out with that guy, sunoo, and go out with me instead." she suggested innocently.

"no." sunghoon replied without any second thoughts.

as of speaking of the wolf, sunoo happened to walk past them, witnesing sunghoon being held by the wrist and sooha holding a cute gift box in her hands. sunoo only glanced at them for a second, before ignoring the scene completely and continuing walking.

sunghoon followed him with his gaze until sunoo disappeared around a corner. sooha squinted her eyes. she felt a flash of anger and resentment, realizing that she had no chance with sunghoon.

"do you like him?" she asked bluntly, hoping to catch him off guard.

"what? no!" sunghoon jumped, pulling his hand back.

"i knew it! i'm sure you like him since that time i made him kiss you at-" sooha quickly interrupted herself and widened her eyes after realising she spoke too much.

sunghoon frowned, tilting his head. "can you repeat that?"

sooha looked down, feeling her cheeks heating up. "i said i knew it... " she murmured quietly.

"no, no, no. the second part."

sooha looked back at sunghoon, already panicking.

"listen, i didn't mean to! i thought he wouldn't actually do that! but he did... and then i tried to stop him, but he was drunk and i was drunk and you were also definitely drunk." she said hastily, hoping that he would understand.

"can you just be more clear?" sunghoon slightly raised his voice, making sooha flinch.

"sorry... i met sunoo at the party and we talked for a while. then, we started arguing about..."
