My love for you is wild as the untamed woods
Where nature reigns in beauty and in might
Where birds sing sweetly and the green leaves broods
Over the secrets of the day and night

My love for you is free as the roaming wind
That blows where it wills and knows no bound
That stirs the waves and makes the branches bend
That fills the air with music and with sound

But you are like a city, proud and fair
That shines with lights and towers in the sky
That draws the crowds and dazzles with its glare
That rules the land with power and with pride

How can I make you see my love is true
When you and I are worlds apart in view?
